"Oops," Loki said. His body shimmered, and in his place stood Icicle.

"What the...?" Icicle protested as the blast knocked him off the roof and he fell to the ground. He barely had time to make a cushion of snow.

"Hiya, Frosty," Spider-Man said, as he and Lightspeed converged on the villain to make sure he didn't get away this time.

I suppose this will look like something of a clean up turn.

"Maybe there won't be a next time!" he retorts, reaching for a joke and oddly missing.

Loki appears next to him and slams his mystically charged hand into Spider-Man's chest. "Truer words were never spoken."

"I got the knives, you concentrate on the thrower," the Beast said, taking to the air and kicking each of the knives out of the way. Starfire took the opening to blast Lyssa Drak out of the fight before she could change to defense. The Beast meanwhile continued to bounce and ended with his feet in Icicle's face. "You remind me of a friend of mine," he told the icy villain, even as he fell. "Mostly the annoying parts."

"I wouldn't count on it," the Beast replies.

Trigon reemerges and unleashes a ferocious blast on the Beast.

"Oh my stars and g----" is all he says before falling.

Several Shadow Demons appear, one moves in to where the Beast was.

"What the heck?" Lightspeed asks as she moves in to blast one.

He turns to her, pure shadow, and snarls with great, big teeth.

"Yikes!" she says. She's experienced a lot Julie Power, but it's been awhile since she's been that frightened.

Hate to see the Beast go down so fast. Hate to see anyone go down so fast, but the Beast's an especial favorite, of course.

I get 1 for Perplex. Got that last turn. May just have to switch that out. I'll take Force Blast instead and slam Loki into the map edge for 1. And at least I don't have to worry about his Stealth any more. One problem down.

I can't really get to anyone worthwhile, and I have a ton of lame ducks. Maybe it's time for some Support. E Dr. Mid-Nite in W11. And instead of the usual (and of debatable merit) Triage, I'll give him LMD to keep from just Force Blasting him to death.
