There needs to be a poll question about this, but to those who went I ask; Would you do it again based on your experience? Especially to those who went for the very first time.
This was my very first time attending any big event like this and if they do it in Maryland again, I'd attend again. Things were done slightly different than I would have done things but I wouldn't call it disorganized. Mostly, when a problem came up, I saw it resolved. There were things I saw that I don't agree with (The ZA tournament prob, for one), but again, I say things went smoother than some people let on.
Look, even with everything that happened it was still a good time.
I had two insanely bad boosters for both pods of qualifiers. I showed several players what I opened afterwords and they all agreed how truly horrible they were. I never heard about the combined record as this was my first nationals and I didn't find out about it until after I dropped from the first pod. In the second pod I again had some horrible boosters (while everyone around me opened pure gold) I then had a horrible ruling go against me (I forgot I could appeal to a higher judge) and I'd still do it again.
For those wondering it was ruled against me that my opponent could Outwit Lex Luthor with a character who did not begin the turn adjacent to him. It cost me the match and my shot at top cut...
Again though, I'd still do it all over again. I just view it as a learning experience for Origins.
The only thing I'm really disappointed in was not having the time to do Battle Royals to get the Avengers ID cards. I would have loved to score all three of them, but sadly I didn't have the time.
How did a judge rule against that? How did your opponent even think that that needed to be ruled on? Doesn't Lex specifically state that he can't be outwitted unless its an adjacent character or something???

RIGHT UNDER THEIR NOSES: Lex Luthor begins the game with a Subterfuge token on his card. When Lex Luthor has a Subterfuge token on his card, opposing characters can only target him if they began the turn adjacent to him. When Lex Luthor targets an opposing character with an attack, remove all Subterfuge tokens from his card.
I think it's cut and dry if dragon put the token on the card!

Kind of hard to get people to follow a system that encourages compliance with the overall goal of customer service as a form of marketing when so much of it is based on self-serving behavior. It relies on somebody who actually cares as a volunteer to take up a cause that might not even get followed or listened to by the company. That leaves the distinct possibility of "meh".
That's a good point and pretty standard practice for conventions. This makes me wonder if at this specific convention, the other games had the same issues. I don't think you can compare this convention to Gencon/Dragoncon/Origins (which probably also have issues across the board).
If I was on other forums comparable to this one for other games, I wonder if I'd find the same problems?

True but side step free action on your turn which means not adjecent at beginning of your turn in my mind but I don t even think that's how Dragon said it went down.

This is such ridiculous logic. If something doesn't affect you, then you have no right to criticize it. Lol.
When you are criticizing how much the disorganization affected your enjoyment of the event, then yes, the cash is a stupid thing to bring up because it doesn't support his point at all. And what he said in another post about someone making a run for the cash is even idiotic. How far would anyone get. The tables were in the way of any money and there were usually two employees at those tables at any time. If someone had a weapon, sure, but then they could have stole the lock box just as easily (it's easy to get in to. Not like its a safe). But regardless, if anything happened to the money, its on the employees and volunteers. It has no effect on anyone else so, again, its an idiotic thing to complain about.
pupulesurfer is in the top 16 as we speak. He's using Prime Capt Marvel with Ophidian, Engineer with Ion, Despotellis with Adara, and an Orange Battery.
And just like at Worlds last year, WK employees still struggle with math. Instead of a single elimination top 32, they did two rounds of swiss with 33+ players, then cut to a top 16.
Even if that is what they did, I don't see a problem with it.

That said I agree with the rest of your post.
Vandalism? I don't think that word means what you think it means...

Never heard this before. Heard some people say that he was supposedly rude, but I never hread anyone say anything about him cursing at anyone.

The 2015 HeroClix U.S. National Championship Qualifiers will be the last opportunity for players to earn a seat in the 2015 HeroClix U.S. National Championship (see below). Two Sealed Qualifier tournaments will be held – 10:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. Each tournament will consist of a number of Swiss rounds until there are 2 or less undefeated players. Up to 16 players from each Qualifier will advance to the 2015 HeroClix U.S. National Championship.

Technically not an outright lie, but only technically. Perhaps "lying by omission" would best describe the situation. It smacks hard of deception and "cash grab," whatever the case.
How so?

If the trips going to only be a mild inconvenience, then of course you'll have fun playing some Clix and getting Con LEs. But it was still run terribly from those I've heard from.
With how much money, time, and dedication goes into this from the players venturing across the country, professionalism and organization shouldn't be considered a courtesy or privilege...it should be considered an expected inclusion with your purchase. The cut to two rounds on day 2 is so insane. With 33+ players (EDIT: I've since been told it was only 32), you not only had to go 2-0, you needed good points. Assuming they didn't extend Top 16 as well. So if you travelled to go to one of the WKOs, won, and got your reserved spot in Day 2? Well, you could apparently go out to MD, win your only 2 games for the main event and still not make it in.
That just doesn't seem right. Nothing against the winning player or anything, but at what point do event organizers #### up an event enough to take away the prestige (EPISODE 10 OUT NOW) of that event?
It's just painful hearing about this with: a. how well the West Coast ROC events are run, b. West Coast still getting snubbed by WK, and c. West Coast players expected to travel across the country for that kind of service/organization.
Math disagrees with you. 32 players means 8 2-0 records after 2 rounds, which will automatically get into top 16, and then the top scoring 8 players with 1-1 records will as well. Even with up to 64 players, all undefeated players after 2 rounds would be in the top 16, because math.

Troll King is a reference to the previous RA (the new RA is Chris FYI) Brian Rupp. Some people had some issues with him, others did not... Go figure that could happen on Realms
Chris who? I thought the RA now was Charlie, aka Laenan

No, it doesn't. Vandalism means deliberately damaging or destroying property. Contacting a company about a customer service issue is definitely not that.

*Sigh*
The property I'm referring to is a page meant to market their product. That page is their billboard.
