That is a fun generic and a great base for any number of wrestlers.
Dial A: I'd probably be running this dial most often and its traits are fun and entertaining.
Dial B: For your Wrassling support needs and c'mon Jobber is such a fun trait it's worth is just to field a horde of Jobbers versus a One Man Army or Tentpole and see your opponents brain melt as they realize that you've only got one or two figures that they can KO without LOSING points!
"All right people last declared action!"
"Well I KO'd seven Wrasslers and all you've got left is those two Infinity Challenge Thugs so that's 280 points for me!"
"I was surprised to face that much Prob from a bunch of Brutes, but they couldn't take the Hulk"
"Yep....and that's 350 points for me"
"...Let me see that card....god I hate you"
"Hey, when I'm payed to take a dive, I take a dive"
"I may not see the road I ride for the witch-fire lamps that gleam;"But phantoms glide at my bridle-side, and I follow a nameless Dream." R.E. Howard

Dialing a generic jabroni was an early idea I got excited for. There seemed to be some fun aspect of it that could be explored. As the setlist started getting crammed real quick I put him into the b-dial here and I think that makes him more exciting as a weird offbeat option but it's not all the dial is. If you need a barry horrowitz, he's your guy
And that was the idea behind the generic wrestler. For all those guys that aren't made in wwe mechanics or here, he can be your fill. Using crusher hogan from wayback in amazing fantasy 15, we get your bald dude in trunks that serves as a shoot wrestler with a dash of all the wrestling angles, a taste of submission hold and the classic irish whip. And as for signature move, well I just had to go with the title of the set, after all . The heel/face turn (or face/heel turn) lets you setup your stable of nwo rulebreakers or maybe some babyfaces to help set tone and have a bit of kayfabe fun with your storylines. The more you like wrestling, the more I wanted you to enjoy what the dial modestly offers for you
ucwfs002 Unique Hostess Fruit Pies (light object) Equip: Any Unequip: KO EFFECT: Signature Move - POWER: If this character has 1 action token, Submission Hold at no cost. Pin at no cost as if the target's click numbers were blue. If the target Kicks Out, give them an action token and both characters instead heal 2 clicks. After resolutions, KO Hostess Fruit Pies. Point Value: 25
This is fantastic, such a fond childhood memory for me those Hostess pies comics!

The Luchadors have a more kinetic feel than the Wrasslin boys and that's perfect!
What's more over the top than professional wrestling?
Mexican Luchadors!
Thank you for making these Commons....because I'm going to need an embarrassing amount of them.....to match the equally ridiculous number of Wrasslers....I may be a man with a clix on his back.
One day 3-D printing will make all this a snap and I'll be living in a warren of boxes filled with clix.....wait...okay maybe that's not exactly a perfect world.
I'm really liking Dial A, but I'm a sucker for bouncing and token-ing with wild abandon.
Dial B has it all in the back-end and man they are a pinning machine.
I appreciate the variety of Luchadors that you can model with this one dial.

awesome, if i can make you a hypothetical hermit hermetically sealed under a wall of printed plastic then i have won
luchadores were also an early must-include. like the dichotomy of the wrasslers i gave you a and b dials for different flavors. the a-dial is based on the traditional mexican mascara while the b-dial has its roots more in the japanese style ace. a-dial has a bit more theater, a bit more showmanship while the b-dial has a bit more striking power and versatility. both get Ropes bonuses for their highflying antics. their dial flows follow the same layout and stats with only the actual powers being the difference. but hopefully, whether it's mil máscaras or ultimo dragon that you're trying to affect, both dials will feel effective and frenetic.
the gif is fairly self-explanatory for the tilt-a-whirl head scissors , but the idea behind the lucha libre sp was it's translation of "free fighting," i wanted you to be freed up from the restrictions of using ropes by behind able to reach out more from them, even when your opponent isn't being cooperative. this way you can envision them hurling themselves from the ropes with every attack you make, which is pretty true to form for the form. though that reach and their ability to send your opponent flying with their signature move is at odds with their dial-run of cr, you'll need to be as crafty as that earned outwit in picking your opponents and picking your placement to get the most out of them.
corkscrew moonsault can work as a standing moosault (see the gif) but everyone loves it sooo much better from the top rope, so i gave a bigger pin bonus that coincides with the flying leap dmg bonus to let you lay out your adversary. the IMMOBILE workaround helps to justify the standing moonsault concept. puroresu is to help make every attack feel like a flying leap as you're able to get a little momentum and mobility off the ropes and land that cce now as a flying dropkick or spinning backheel or the like
Of course no Promotor sub-theme would be complete without old Arcade as a part of it.
His promotor dial is just as it should be. Generating Murder Bots is what Arcade does.
The vet dial is where all the fun is. Giant robot is right what you need when you need it. I mean giant robot is always the end game right?
I like the power level of the murder bots. Nothing ridiculous, just sold murder numbers
promoter is arcade's typical m.o., so his is more expensive, but the ability to generate pogs felt justified in the cost. their for pecking away. higher attack/modest dmg but with enough bite to not be ignored. no move&attack and close only defenses will make that l/c seem like a vital lunge with the follow up. like an arcade fps minion fight where they rush you and you have to shoot em down before they have time to strike
the flavor text was a lot of fun and easy to ply into clix, fortunately. so i had fun with the tk alteration. no attacks, you say? i say more attacks! now it can hurt your opponent to affect the flippers or boobytraps or general murderous atmosphere of the environment you have unfortunately found yourself waking up in. but hey, at least your kidneys are intact. i shudder to think of the result if arcade ever teams up with surgeon general (sadly, i never did get around to clixing her )
but yeah, giant robot (which could be the elephant in the room, if you wanted it to be ) is the bossfight we need . nice power upkick with an unintended palate swap on the dial . choose your fighter carefully because he's all about zerging you at this point. curbstomp!

Ring The Bell: At the beginning of the game, turn Referee to click #1, #4 or #7. // During your opponent's turn, they may use Referee's printed Speed powers as if he was friendly to their force. Easy, Boys, I Want A Clean Fight And A Fair One, Understand?: Characters within 6 squares and line of fire cannot use standard powers (or standard powers from traits and special powers) that are not on the UCWF Powers and Ability Card. Reach For The Ropes: Characters within 6 squares and line of fire that are adjacent to Ropes can only be dealt damage by pushing or from an attack. Illegal Foreign Object: When a character within 6 squares and line of fire makes an object attack -OR- is an equipped character that makes an attack, after resolutions deal them 1 penetrating damage.
When The Bell Rings-- Hey! They're Crazy! I Can't Stay In There-- I'll Be Killed!

I don't know why this inclusion surprises me but it does.
I just hadn't considered the inclusion of a referee.
The ability to customize the Ref to each game does make them a lot more tempting to include in your stable.
Easy, Boys, I Want A Clean Fight And A Fair One, Understand?: Keeping it thematic to the set here and making the Ref the bane of all those unsporting rubes that would bring those non-sanctioned shenanigans into the ring.
Reach For The Ropes: Hmm, I can think of several wrestlers from this set that could be helped by this special.
Illegal Foreign Object: Shall we refer to this ability as Ref-tics? Keep it clean you mugs, I won't have that kind of nonsense in MY ring!
They're Crazy! I Can't Stay In There-- I'll Be Killed!.....I mean...yeah, you're going to earn your fee this time my friend. Things that eat universes or burn whole civilizations to their foundations have little respect for the rules of the ring.

hey, the third "generic" (of a sorts) caught you off guard, eh? i wanted to bring another "necessary element" to the wrestling world. the absence of the ref should be addressed, so i don't mind jumping in before someone else does. as a rare "generic," i went ahead and gave him the silver ring, too, because more than 1 would create too much coverage and be a real jerk. but thematically, there should just be the 1 anyway. i was careful to make all their effects universal (no bribes on this one, at least) and with your opponent's ability to use their sidestep/nimble on their turn to help dictate the flow of that coverage, mayyyyyyybe they won't kill them outright. maybe. ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯
each of the rules effects you get to choose from are meant to replicate the stuff the wrestlers are supposed to play by. get rid of that kooky stuff and make everyone play by the ucwf rules (man will that derail a lot of builds) or let them reach for the ropes to break holds and pins (another big opening with situational use) or just outlaw those infamous foreign objects (yet another strike against the equipment meta, "we don't take kindly to yer types around these parts" ).
all that passive control lets you focus the ref on careful placement. make sure he sees what you need him to see, but hey refs are infamously blind and easily distracted so maybe he scoots just a square away from your heel wielding a steel folding chair just know if you play it too close to the razor, your opponent can do the same with a scoot on their turn, too, and you could be the one getting "ejected" for breaking the rules
Signature Move: Flying Death Drop: Empower. If Gus Zapata has 1 action token, Flying Leap. Modify attack +1 if the target is adjacent to a friendly Rigo Zapata. Tag Team: Zapata Brothers: FREE: Switch squares with an adjacent friendly character with this trait -OR- If this character began your turn on the map and is adjacent to Ropes, replace them with another character with this trait that isn't on the map and remove 1 action token from them. Let's Go Get That Gringo Nah, I'm Already Spinning Like A Dreidel

Bro
Ah jeeze, I'd forgotten he even existed and I've read those issues!
I remember Gus and his brother showing up in Deapool and the Merc's for Money showing up in a big Humvee and acting with all the subtlety of a hog in a feed bin.
Signature Move: Flying Death Drop: I'm thinking that Rigo will either have Empower or Enhance to go along with his brother's Empower.
I can't help but think that the Brothers might end up being the sleeper hit of the set and man I can't see wanting to run a sufficiently high point Maggia team with this kind of muscle to back it up.
Tag Team: Zapata Brothers: I'm for any trait that allows me to skip out of a Break Away roll!
Okay so I'm guessing Rigo will be 60 points as well so that leaves me with 180 points to build a a Maggia team with....I'm going to need some mobility...how about.
iim023 Unicorn for TK, Knockback and Flight: 66 points
f4015 Trapster because its Pete and I'll use every excuse to run him: 75 points
eax008 Vulturion for additional mobility: 20 points
.....and that leaves 19 points...nuts. One more point and I could add a Goon or another Vulturion ( there were bunch of them after all ).
So maybe some equipment.
Okay
So the Zapata brothers for 120 points
Unicorn for 66
Vulturion for 20
Steve the Combat Intern...er SFSM005 Thug for 10 points
Trapster at 75 with Asgardian Shield for 4 points and ata043 Intelligencia ATA for the potential +2 to range for Pete and that brings my total to 298!

they had actually debuted first in moon knight as hired guns sent to get him and the gal he was guarding. it establishes them more than the mercs for money tale where they cameod or the deadpool teamup where they had some fun with him.
the zapata bros are delightfully hilarious, over the top (rope) and tongue fully in cheek. just a lot of fun. especially with all their constant "bro" towards one another. they were another tag team i could slip into the set and another corner of the marvel u i could cover thanks to the reach of the set's theme. i enjoyed doing a theme that wasn't a rigidly set group but one that could cross over into all kinds of groups. lets there be a little bit for everyone
gus and rigo will be a useful tag team that aren't shy about busting out the semi-automatics with a range pop that keeps their sculpts from looking like tiger lily . while the moon knight run was more expansive into their story, the mercs for money tale did a good job of giving them the signature moves i needed (thankfully). gus is the highflyer and is bringing down the aerial attack which gets the added flavor of the bonus dmg from his bro. and the empower is slipped in there whether making the signature move or not to polish their dials into more dangerous territory when their teamwork starts firing on all cylinders. it made sense to me that they'd be more tightly designed together since they're thick as thieves
