I have to be at work at 5 (now at Buffalo and Washington) but I think I can swing it
As for Grant on Batman I think Batman should make a deal with Mephisto to erase all the garbage that is R.I.P. or have Superboy punch another hole in reality, or just ignore it like countdown.... does the show Dallas ring any bells for anyone
I don't care if it takes away from the drama rule one should be don't kill main characters (note: I have not read the last issue of RIP but if its as bad as I expect I see one less comic I have to get each month...)
I am kinda of stummped on who to use for the ALT earths team... other than ultimates and KC can anyone throw up some suggestions?
I don't want to play a game of chess where dumb luck or money decides whether or not I get to use a rook... Collectibility is a necessary evil of Heroclix, not a boon.

Justin, as I said earlier, I have a 500pt. Alternate Earth team of all mods I won't be using. I would love to have someone play it. Its "classic Avengers" -ish. Let me know.
Got my Clown Prince today #4055. Cuttining it close to the end of the run.

CSA is a good one. I know you like them as well. I thought about putting togeter one, but went a different route.
Any Ultimate Universe fig works, doesn't have to be an all Ultimates team. X-Men, Fan 4, Brotherhood, heck even Liberators. Plus have Namor and some Spidey villans.
Also have:
Squadron Supreme
2099
Days of Future Past
Age of Apocalypse
Grant Morrison New X-Men run... Wait did that count as cannon??? Can't remember cuz it sucked so bad.
Wuzzup fellas! Any final decisions on what the themes are for the upcoming tourney? I definitely vote for a comic accurate team. How about 500 pts? That'll definitely open up more possibilities for builds. I'm flexible. Whatever you fellas wanna do.
My theme will be DC characters who died in terribly written storylines. Damn! I can use everybody in the universe! I win!
My next theme is Marvel characters that live in New York. To get even more creatively specific, my third theme will be characters written by Geoff Johns or Brian Michael Bendis in the last 5 years. I'm on fire!
Damn you Wizkids!!!!
Hey Lucky, don't you mess wit Grant's X-Men. That isht was twice as good as Final Crisis! Oops, he wrote that too. Well, at least it was better than the Death of Superman, and lots of dudes wrote that.
Grant's X-Men was 12 times as good as the Clone Saga. Think about how original it was to create that new X-Villain Magneto. I'd never seen anything like it. It introduced such great characters as Beak and that Arab chick that turned into Sand. (What was her name? Oh yeah, Sand!)
Think of the other innovations Grant's run incorporated. Scott dated a Blonde psychic for the first time in X-history. Any other writer woulda had him with a redheaded psychic. Nothing makes a team come together like adding a member that has tried to kill you several times.:cross-eye
But none of us can forget the best aspect of the run. Hank McCoy now looks like Cringer off He-Man dipped in blue dye! Yes, nothing says scientific prodigy like a guy whose secondary mutation make you incapable of using a keyboard or ever having a woman. (I can't believe he did that to Hank. Even Beak got laid. So what if Beak's chick threw up on her food before she ate it.)
Grant Morrison is the Greatest Comic Book Writer in Seven Soldiers' History!

Reason: grammar
Well Grants finest moment was with Animal Man and the Doom Patrol!!! I think he's gone downhill from there. It used to be a combination of imagination and drugs but now it seems like he's leaning towards drugs too much.
if you read this then you lost 10 seconds you'll never get back.

In a semi-recent issue of Uncanny (or at least since they moved to San Fran) Beast somehow got the ability to use his thumbs again (at least I am pretty sure he did I remember thinking "when did he lose the ability?" when I read it)

Thanks to the guys for showing up to the Tourney today. I had fun playing my Mods! I have a strong respect for Goliath (Massive Man). Tough fig to take down!
For next weeks tourney 12/13/08 we have the following stips:
Build 2 teams at 400pts each. One team must be from the John Ell era and the other must be from the Seth era. This includes all cardboard used (feats and objects too!) If ya'll have any questions, please ask.
John L. vs. Seth figures. If you look at my history of posts on this thread you know which designer I back. But if you really want to see which designer is better it only comes down to a couple of team builds
Icons Superman min max
BA / Thor / Nova Blast 1-2 punch
Super Swarm
vs.
Earth-2 Superman min max
Protected Smallball
Stardust Defense
But we have seen all these builds before. I am taking it a different route...
John L. X-Men vs. Seth X-Men
Mutants really benifit from white powers, but John L. made some very effecient figs under 50pts. Can't wait to find out next Saturday.
