Well, it was a fun theme. Worth playing in just for that and because it was your first game.
It was incredibly frustrating though. The fact that the mafia had soooooo many players and could steal 2 votes, had 2 players at a time that couldn't be lynched, had unblockable hitmen, a doctor and could flat out say "Don't lynch this outted mafia member. Lynch the vigilante instead" was crazy.
And the town was pretty much one big mason group. If you had had a weaker mafia, they would have dominated.
The thing about mafia is it should be a small group of players (I've been guilty of making that group too big as well) knowing who is mafia and who isn't trying to avoid being lynched by a large number of clueless people.
If the mafia makes up 1/3 of the group (only needing to achieve 1/2 of the players to win), then they aren't an informed minority. If the town is one big mason group, they aren't an uninformed majority.
The goal isn't to make both groups have equal overpowering elements to hopefully get a close game. The goal is to maintain mystery throughout the game. I didn't feel like I had to figure much out. At the end of the last day, I was masoned with just about all of the town and watched everyone I knew or was 75% sure was mafia lynch a townie and couldn't do anything about it.
But hey, it was your first game and a lot of love went into it and that's the making of a good mod.
Ah, in true Lannister style, we killed most of our potential allies. Jaime? Check. The Mountain? Check. Only Baelish escaped Ser Payne, and that's only because Stark got him. Crazy. But we really lucked out in killing targets that didn't have wolves. Kept us able to stay on top of the majority. When there were 14-16 players left, we had a night or two where we needed a successful kill in order to survive the next day phase. And when I say "we", I mean me.
We did have an unblockable killer, but the town had 5 people who could survive the first nightkill and 2 bodyguards on top of that. We were incredibly fortunate that the Mountain killed off a few townies early on (useful townies, at that), and were able to save up until the 4th or 5th night and mass buy some votes. Vote control and day-kills were the only effective way of getting around all the dire wolves. We had 5 "survive a night kill" townies and Syrio to deal with.
Who needs to control the night if you control the day phase?
You took our vigilante's sword during the day and gained a second night kill. We couldn't lynch you during the day. You were bound to finish the wolves off sooner or later...which you did.
I agree about the whole informed minority, uninformed majority being different. majinmagog only targeted Starks except for KitsuShel, and Renly and Loras died to the mountain.
While the mafia was big, I tried to balance it out with all of the protection the town had and one member who could not vote at all. In hind sight, I'd say Tywin shouldn't have been aloud to buy more than 2 votes at a time, and while a cool mechanic, the passing of Ice was probably not a good idea.
The other problem I had was that certain people were just expected to be in the game. Pycell was extra, but I felt the mafia needed protection (they didn't). I included Beric and Syrio so that people would have broad roleclaiming ability.

Well the hound was only unlynchable the day Joff saved him and the next day.
Two day lynch immunity was probably too much, but with only 3 people capable of making night kills, I thought the mafia needed the protection.
The town lost a lot of power when Melkhor decided to use his daykill so early in the game--and in the Day for that matter. Though, I'm guessing the time difference played a factor their.

I was gonna fake claim Syrio, actually, until he showed up for real. I like the fact that a few of the lower level characters made the cut like that.

True, but there was a lot of timing and luck involved. On the day that we chopped up Melkhor, if the majority had been reached before Joff used his power, I would have died. I was pretty clearly outted by TBB at that point, so it was a matter of Joff getting on before the votes came in. Even after that, Robb's vote apparently could not be bought, so we only got the majority the next day because we over-bought the needed amount of votes.

Hey, I was trying to get some townies to target me after my day 1 comment (to show my worth to the mafia--success!), then I thought I did a pretty good job proving my "worth" to the town by defending my actions and my role. I convince the town not to lynch me (success!), and then YOU guys roleblock and kill me. Jerks.

I completely agree with this. All of the townies having "second" lives, just made it all the more frustrating for us, as we just basically delayed the inevitable as we kept trying to vote off the people we knew were mafiosos and we simply couldn't do it because 2-4 votes were bought.
no offense to DC, as he took what he was given, but NO mafioso should be outted that soon in the game and simply not be able to be lynched all game. i thought it made sense for joff to be unlynchable as long as kingsguardsmen remained, but not sandor.
it was pretty obviously unbalanced if you look at the turnout, but don't feel too bad, nifty. it was a cool idea for a theme, and i think it would be very hard to make a perfectly balanced game your first time. i know my bro consulted one of the vet mods (sstralkowski maybe?) to check his roles and whatnot before he ran his willow game, and that seemed to work pretty well for him, if you are thinking about running a clash of kings game

no, my vote was bought. it was just a mod oversight that he forgot to send the PM. also, even if we had lynched you before joff used the power, you all still would have RBed and killed Melk after Dondarion was dead, and then you still would have gotten ICE and had 2 night kills.

But if I had been lynched and the group had to NK Melkhor, Ice would have gone to Robb or Bran, and the vig would have taken out Joff (or whoever else was suspicious). Also, had I died, Pycelle would have been the only person who could kill for the Lannisters unless they got Ice somehow. Also had I died, the mafia would have lost a voting member, which was critical in the game for us.
Guys, Sandor wasn't unlynchable. When Joff saved him from the lynch, he became unlynchable that day and the next.
And mafia, I came on to the thread and sent Beardo a PM explaining that dbauers vote had indeed been bought.
I think the thing that killed the town most was the loss of Melkhor so early. Melk clearly thought that get_1 was a bigger threat than he turned out to be. The mafia was actually convinced that get_1 was Ned, which meant that get_1 would have been the prime target of the mafia. Once Ned was outed, he became the prime target and the town lost their kill.
Also, darius_dax was given information that Beardo might be untrustworthy and there was never any follow up by the town, and no one targeted Reibello the whole game.
