Well, if you're expecting Ron Jeremy I figure you've got to be ready for just about anything.
So...errrmmm..... ummm.... how about that Deadpool figure? Looking sweet, huh?
And...girls...I really, really, really like girls. Just ask my girlfriend. Wait...not girls as in girls...I mean women. Just ask my girlfriend....who's a woman!

On the whole, human beings want to be good — but not too good, and not quite all the time. - George Orwell
So, wait. You've got a Batman avatar and you're ripping on Loeb's writing?
Am I missing something?
Yes. Hush was just a retread of Dark Victory which was just a retread of The Long Halloween. One of the main selling points for all of those stories is the art - though I'm not a big Jim Lee fan. Tim Sale, however, makes some right gorgeous pictures. Regardless, those stories range from mediocre to bad.
What, just because I like Batman, I'm expected to like all Batman stories? That's just silly. I loves me some Dark Knight Returns or Morrison's various runs on Batman or Year One or whatever. I don't love every last bit of drivel that has ever been written about Batman. Most of it is garbage. But the good stuff is good.
I'm in Providence! I've been out of the hobby, but I'm looking for Saturday gaming. Send me a PM if you know the down-low!

I already repped you once today, man.
Oh, I'm not talking about the Loeb part (although I agree with it). I'm talking about the 'not being such a blind fanboy that you buy everything they put out for you to buy just 'cause your favorite guy stars in it' part.
Don't we already have (numerous) threads devoted to kvetching about Loeb? No need for this one to go downhill...
OT:
I agree that the sculpts look rather nice. I'm very interested in what Traits these figs may have!!!

They say that 80% of everything is #### and in the comics world Jeph Loeb falls deeply in that 80%.
I want these clixed: Doc Savage, Fu Manchu, Tarzan, The Shadow, The Green Hornet & Kato, Conan, Solomon Kane, The Phantom, King Kong, Universal Monsters, Black Orchid, Manhunter (Paul Kirk), Xemnu the Titan, unclixed Kirby Fourth World characters, and Lilith, Daughter Of Dracula.

Fair enough. I will say that the Red Hulk sculpt does look good. I think NECA is making it a point of having their first non-Topps related set come out swinging.

Well, it's been the death of Marvel for me anyways. I want to like marvel, I really do. But every decision Joe Q makes is like it's his personal mission to get me to stop reading Marvel books. There are some great writers at Marvel like Bendis and Straczynski, that do the best they can to make good stories based on bad ideas.
I'll guess I'll leave it at that. All this talk about Marvel has got me worked up instead of enjoying the previews. I am looking forward to the set, and hope it far surpasses the low bar that B&B set.
Really have to echo this. I still love clix, and won't begrudge anyone their characters they love from current books...but good god do I hate the current mucked-up state that is Marvel.
In my continuity, Hulk came back from Planet Hulk and ended the 616 Marvel U. That shot of him pointing his sword at Earth from atop the stone ship....that was the end.

Loeb sells, in part, because he offers artists an opportunity to create gorgeous splash pages. Loeb's writing is garbage. The artists he's often paired with tend to be top notch and given a lot of room to draw cool scenes.
The fact that Loeb is conducive to gorgeous splash pages doesn't change the fact that only a nimrod could actually find Loeb's stories to be any good.
Modern day, Jeph Loeb is basically the Michael Bay of comics. Nobody claims to like it, yet it sells like crazy.
That said... call me a nimrod. Loeb's done some work I really enjoyed over the years. Some of them have been deeper stories (like his original Batman Halloween specials) and yes, others have been big action-splodey-spotfests.
And you're right. Loeb really knows how to write for his artists and give them the opportunity to strut their stuff. But we seem to disagree on whether that's a weakness or a strength.
