I like eel a lot. Never had a sushi what with eel that I didn't like.

So, what do you guys think about the retirement announcement? For it, against it, or don't give two hoots?

Mmm... On one hand I think it's overdue if the intent is to keep Modern Age constantly shifting a la type 2 in Magic, but on the other hand four retirements at once seems a bit limiting. On the other other hand, I rarely find that I use figures from the sets being retired any more. On the other other other hand, we haven't been enforcing the retirement of the Legion starter at my venue, so there's a good chance this will go largely un-enforced.

Doesn't bother me in the slightest - my buddies and I play home games 99.9% of the time. In fact, last night we played a 600 pt. game and only figures that were pre-Special Powers were allowed. My old-school avengers team won out.

I'm fine with it. It will be an adjustment to remember that some of my favorite pieces are no longer considered Modern Age but we tend to mix up the formats at the local venue so figs like Icicle, Darkseid and Chief will still get played.

I just wanted to check in here and complain some more about retirements, figures, maps, Nightcrawler, Metron, Bullseye and loaded dice.

Love Modern. I will miss MM. But home games all are legal.

We usually ignore retirement. We paid for these figures so why shouldn't we be able to use them?

Ouch. Palmer, that's terrible. All I can say is that the last few times that happened to me it completely blew over and nobody ever spoke of it again. I hope it goes the same or better for you.
