New York, NY Kent Brockman: "Dozens of people are gunned down each day, but until now, none of them was important. At 3:00 PM Friday, local autocrat C. It looks like necro decks are well in the lead. I cant say that surprises me either. it wasnt until 2 months ago that I finally laid my own Necrodeck down to begin a new one. What I am surprised at is the few # of people that voted for a Fiend control. We arent in Ban time yet, folks. Though I am glad to see people taking the risks of experimenting with new decktypes beforehand. pyrofire14 and Waldo did a lot of campaigning to get Mesfit in the limelight. Yata....C'MON! Fiend Control is easy to run, deadly to use, and is the first to make use of outside types like don Zaloog and TIV. Yes, controllers were using TIV even before Necrofearists. And then there is the holy Trinity of control: DDuo, Forceful, confiscation.
Envoy, Im going to have to say that Fiend control is a valid category all its own. The closest equivilent would be the Meta Fiends or Necrofear. But its still not the same. So, thanks for the expansion :) and being the first one.
And Waldo, Thank you for the Byser review. I have loved that card since PGD came out (one of 5 people, LOL!) This is one of the few times I would use Puppet Magic of the Dark Ruler too as it makes little sense to bother keeping Byser on the field after the summoning. But taking advantage of the level through meta and Puppet Magic is great for fully using him for the ultimate "Shock" value.
Yes, props to Waldo, as usual for the full Byser review, as well as to juvenile who brought the issue up. My brother-in-law was using it against me on YVD the other day and I never noticed it before and kind of wondered about its usability. Its not necessarily what it can do when it hits the field (a blessing nonetheless) but its more of what you can do with it AFTERWARDS that makes it more fiendish 8^D
I'm sorry guys....But to the addition of all this work and crap, I have a girl now....My YuGiOhRealms time is VERY limited :'(
Well, I must say I've tried out about 10 different Fiend deck types since I started playing Fiends a few months back (seems longer....Way longer), and I have to say that Fiend Metamorphises Field Control is by far the best. It's really hard to classify this deck, because it's everywhere....But the way I won pretty much every game was field control (Mystic Tomatos...Newdorias...Dark Jeroids...Slate Warriors...Lesser Fiend...Dark Balter the Terrible...etc), and finally when I countered every one of my opponent's moves, I dropped Yata for game
The thing I realized is hand control is too randomized. I mean, if you hit the wrong card, it did you no good, and next turn you could take big damage. So why not focus on taking over the field, and getting a few good blows in early? Just keep countering everything your opponent does and pretty much the next thing you know is they poured out their whole hand to stop you from dominating the field. They see you have no support for Yata in your deck, so why should they worry about it? Then when they have pretty much nothing left, I drop the Yata-Lock about 20th turn for game. Works like a charm EVERY time
During the tournament finals, I won 2-0, both games with Yata-lock. I counted; one was 13th turn, the other 21st. Sounds wierd and unstable, but between Metamorphises, Necrofear, Newdoria, Dark Jeroid, and all the other formidable field control Fiends, I can shift into gear for the long haul pretty easy
I was thinking in a side-deck to Archfiend Metamorphosis. It is interesting, but may be difficult. I will use Lesser Fiends and possibly Ha Des. Any other suggestions?
Archfiend decks DEFINETLY need Last Wills. I can't stress that enough! Also, Mystic Tomatos are VERY nice
Play Last Will, suicide Mystic Tomato. Pull out Infernalqueen and Vilespawn. Every turn, power up Vilespawn. Your opponent has to attack Vilespawn, which is a 2200. Pull out another Infernalqueen and you have yourself a 3200 blocker. Not bad, eh?
Archfiend Metamorphises won't work. Sorry, I've tried it before. Aside from Lesser Fiend and Sinister Serpent, there really isn't much you can use it on (excluding Falling Down)

last wills, yes. But the problem with running Mystic tomatos is it is limiting to the ones you can get. the only dark Archfiends are Terrorking, Summoned Skull, Archfiend of Lightning, Lesser. And they are all above 1500 atk. the Queen is Fire, Desrook-Light, Dark Bishop-water, Shadowknight-wind, vilepawn-earth. So the elemental searchers arent worth it, IMO. Use last wills and Pandemonium's effect to get your monsters out. mystic tomatos could get some other tech monsters, but not enough to make it worth running more than 1,.. maybe. And that would probably be MS, Jeroid, or newdoria. You dont want to pick Cyber jar, Spear Cretin, or Kuriboh. And you just cannot get Tsukoyomi. Those are some of the very few non Archfiends Ive seen in an archfiend deck
Waldo explained how to fully use Archfiend Roar, falling Down, Axe of D, and the Oath. Checkmate for those who really want to punch a direct hit with Terrorking. But, pyrofire is right, Archfiends arent a great matchup with Metamorphasis. You will be trying to Special Summon your Terrorking more than anything else, and that is a 4* monster. Most of them are 4*, Desrook 3*, Vilepawn 2*. So if you can dump SSkull in the grave and Reborn it via Roar, you can search out Lesser. Those are the only 2 cards that will meta into a fusion you can use.. its because the Archfiends work to maintain a new kind of field control and presence. think of it like a graduate course for beatdown.
Well, I threw this deck together last night.....I hope it works (Didnt get a chance to test it) Tell me what you guys think:
Awesome: (40)
Monsters: (16)
3 Giant Germ
3 Night Asailant
2 Lesser Fiend
2 Kuriboh
2 Newdoria
1 Dark Necrofear
1 Slate Warrior (I have no clue why I put this in here)
1 Mystic Tomato
1 Magical Scientist
Spells: (16)
2 Metamorphosis
2 Book of Moon
2 Creature Swap
1 Painful Choice
1 Card Destruction
1 The Forceful Sentry
1 Confiscation
1 Premature Burial
1 Pot of Greed
1 Mystical Space Typhoon
1 Snatch Steal
1 Nobleman of Crossout
1 Change of Heart
Traps: (8)
3 Time Seal
3 Drop Off
1 Call of the Haunted
1 Torrential Tribute
As you can see it is control......to the max! Other than that, its a bunch of good cards thrown together LoL
i just came up with a combo, it can be a OTK fiend deck, seriously
grave protector and giant germ
since grave protector forces monsters normaly sent graveyard as a result of battle to the deck instead, you can suicid your germ infinately with this monster on the field, and will work as long as the monster your uiciding him to has 1400 or less ATK points, which can be accomplished easily with dark jeroid
set tamato and activate last will, reborn jeroid lower the ATK of a monster on your opponents side of the field so that they have between 1100 and 1400 ATK then suicide your tamato and summon giant germ and grave protector, and thats an OTK fiend style
I WISH, Juvenile!!! I thought of that combo when I first saw Grave Protector.
Unfortunately....
Grave Protector As long as this card remains face-up on the field, monsters that are destroyed as a result of battle are returned to the owner's Deck instead of being sent to the Graveyard. The Deck is then shuffled.
Giant Germ When this card is sent to the Graveyard as a result of battle, inflict 500 points of Direct Damage to your opponent's Life Points....
Under Grave Protector's dictatorship of the graveyard, the Giant Germs would go from the field to the deck.
Would've been nice, though huh? :)
