I have a name suggestion,I was saving this name for if I ever established my own comic store, but this is a good cause, simply -
FANBOYZ
i'm not sure i've ever seen any company named this, but I could imagine a sporting goods store having this name also. I apologize to that 1% of female gamers out there but Fanpeoplez just doesn't sound right.
No doubt he's brought that behemoth Brock Sampson with him, he's gonna go sickhouse on our asses
Justin Ziran posted a note of encouragement and some news on both the Facebook group: Save HeroClix and the Wizkids boards.
Basically: he turned on the message board, prize support being sent out for Dec and maybe Jan. Won't know about Jan stuff until tomorrow. Stores won't be able to schedule Jan events on their system, but at least you'll be able to have some stuff to give out at games!
He reiterated Jake's and his message that HeroClix WILL survive this and that the brand is still poised for great things.
1) The name shouldn't sound anything at all like WizKids. It also should be far away from Topps, WOTC, Upper Deck, any board game company name you can think of, or other core hobby game. Be original.
2) Stick to the front half of the alphabet. I like being at the top of page, when we're alphabetized. If you come up with something great that starts with the letter Z, it may be okay, but it would have to be a helluva name.
3) Don't use numbers in the name. It's too hard to remember whether to spell them as words or numbers in a url.
4) The name should be able to support non-HeroClix game lines.
5) It should be easily logo-able. Probably seven or less characters and a cool image idea.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Games!
1) Not close to any other names.
2) This will ALWAYS be the first thing listed.
3) No numbers.
4) Doesn't say "HeroClix" but doesn't say "Not HeroClix" either...
5) Logo... Um, a guy falling down a well?
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
Wow, it's hard to find something better than PowerBomb Games. It has that active, cartoony violence to it that will appeal to the 9-14 males.
So that would be my first choice for a company name. Otherwise...
#2. Energy Explosion Games. (We don't want to go too far down this slope, we'd end up with Hindering Terrain Games or Action Token Productions).
#3. Heroclix, Inc. (Why make people remember the product name AND the company name?)
#4. Ex Machina Games. (For saving Heroclix at the last minute.)
