Yeah. I like him a lot too! Someone just handed him to me at an event last night and I look forward to playing him.
The lack of Avengers Keyword does really sting, though. I'll still play him on Avengers teams, of course. You can't tell me what constitutes a "theme", WK! (Well, I suppose you can, but I don't have to agree!) But the lack of Avengers keyword means no ATAs and less utility from his Leadership power.
Yeah, I know that this is supposed to be WWII Cap and hence the accuracy of no Avengers keyword, but you'd never know that was supposed to be the case if it weren't for the names of the powers and keywords. The dial seems perfectly reasonable for a modern day Cap.
yeah. the lack of theme-ability on this cap doesn't irk me so much as the kw-specific power that screams cap, yet lacks the most critical of all his KWs and the one that would benefit most from his sp. so, so very close to perfection. but still, a great dial that i'll try to scoop up
Agents of SHIELD is undeserving of 90% of the criticism it gets. Most people that I see lambaste it are people expecting all superheroes when it was announced going into the show that it was going to delve into the day-to-day of SHIELD and its agents. For that, it's done a great job. It's also been excellent at tying in movie stuff (Sif was in a recent episode) and there's been more than enough name dropping to set the stage for some future awesomeness.
The bolded is probably the laziest, most overused defense of Agents of SHIELD that I have ever seen on the internet. My problem with the show was boring characters and very inconsistent writing from episode to episode. I hardly hear anyone saying the show is bad for a lack of superpowers; some fans just want the cast to be more than cardboard cutouts.
I'm going to watch the three most recent episodes once I have cable again. Everyone says the show has stepped up its game in terms of writing and characterization, and I really want to enjoy the show.

That's pretty much where I am too. I HATED the first episodes. My expectation coming in was pretty high, as I was hoping for a Firefly-level script. However, all I got was the most cliched characters imaginable. We have a tech/lab guy? Let's make him British, since we associate British accents with braininess. Oh, and let's crank his geek-factor up to 11. We have a reluctant hero? Let's make him very brooding, and have him complain about having to work with a team. We have a semi-retired agent? Let's make her totally bad-ass, and she'll only come out of retirement when they really need her badassery. It's like they were making a suck-cake, and needed every ingredient to suck, to fully enhance the sucky flavors. Then, they burnt the suck-cake, and served it anyway, hoping no one would notice. The whole story, and EVERY character were caricatures, lacking any real depth or believability.
I too, have heard that the show got MUCH better after its dismal start, but I'm still somewhat skeptical and haven't watched anything beyond the first four episodes.

Right. So the only Named Keyword he even has is "Howling Commandos" and the only Howling Commando with a higher point cost is the Bucky/Cap duo chase from this set.
There isn't even any "accurate" character choice to be able to benefit from that ability.
I don't think the inclusion of the Avengers keyword would have made the figure too overpowered either. Oh well.

I haven't seen the last few episodes, but I did watch it a good bit past the first four. I do think it improved since the beginning, but to say it got "MUCH better" would be a gross exaggeration.

Oh man, I agree so much. The worst part is other characters acting like idiots in order to make Skye look smarter.

I held out through episode 11, and while some of the episodes got better, the problems with the characters remained the same, by and large. The biggest problem is that Ward and Skye are terrible leads (I don't know if it's the acting, the writing, or both).

yeah, soldier kw is going to get the best thematic benefit from that
he can boss around wolverine, war machine, ms marvel, ares and red hulk outside his weight-class, so there's that
I'm really only watching it for Coulson and his story. The rest of the characters are pretty 2D and boring. With the lab rats that's not as mush of an issue since they're supporting characters, but I simply can't make myself care about Ward. They're also pushing Skye way too hard, and I don't like her character archetype to start with.
Mae is so-so, but her interactions with Coulson are usually pretty good. After seeing him as the straight-man in most of the movies it's funny to see him interact with someone even more uptight.
90% of rules questions are answered by RTFC. Most of the rest are answered by a proper grasp of English and common goddamn sense.
My initial experience with the show was lackluster and I really didn't care for the characters too much. I think it's because I had rather high expectations going into it, because Joss Whedon did such an awesome job with Avengers. I stuck with it though, because I read that Whedon's stuff takes a little while to get going. The characters really haven't gotten much better IMO, but the show has thrown in some bits that have snagged my curiosity enough to keep me coming back like The Clairvoyant, Deathlokk and the body they found in the top secret SHIELD lab).
Re: This Set
I'm a little sad at the lack of villains in this set, but only a little since that's less figures I have to add to my collection and the ones we did get are pretty good.
WHEN THE DEVIL IS TOO BUSY,
AND DEATH’S A BIT TOO MUCH.
THEY CALL ON ME BY NAME YOU SEE, FOR MY SPECIAL TOUCH...

Ugh. I hate that. The last episode I watched was the one where Coulson had been abducted and Skye went through a lot of convoluted BS in order to engage in some relatively basic money trail following in order to locate his abductors. It wasn't just making the idiots on the plane look stupid, it was making the entire SHIELD organization look stupid. It really bugged me.

Exactly. If he's being able to boss around those guys, then he should just have the bloody Avengers keyword.
In case anyone else is interested I compiled a short list of the states where these have shown up.

Nebraska
Minnesota

I didnt see this posted anywhere else really so my apologies if this is in the wrong section. Just trying to keep track so everyone knows when they may want to start checking their local Targets.

Oh no, that is great.
Thanks.
I wish that when people announce, "Hey, I just bought THIS."
That they would tell the rest of us WHERE they bought It.

a Buddy of mine found a case in a target in San Gabriel/Pasadena, California. If you live out there its the target off the freeyway by foothill. He took the entire case to split among 5 gamers.
there was just one case. So don't go to that target. It wasn't even on the self yet!! the Guy told him that all the targets in the area will be getting them today.
