I don't really get more excited about getting rid of a player we know next to nothing about.
I'd rather votes were used to gather info, so when they fail to garner a response (whether due to actual absences or purposeful avoidance), it's a lot harder to read the reasoning behind the votes. This makes the train doubly ineffective if we chose poorly.
And I'm suddenly wondering if I'm late to the conversation after reading through 11 pages to catch up and I'm taking part in an argument that everyone else has already moved on from.
Crap. Really sorry guys, I didn't realize this thread was open. I'd been following and posting in Star Wars but had to spend the last hour and a half catching up here.
So I had a one-shot alignment copping and I used it last night on CaptainNifty. His Day 1 posts pinged me and I figured I might get offed since I was so active with Rokk.
He came up mafia.
I know there isn't a whole lot of time left, but that's a whole lot better of a lead than we have on michigan.
Err... I'm fairly certain this is a pressure-for-claim train, not necessarily a vote-to-sink train.
Which is why I suggested we hold off on any more votes.

Well I'm not sure how we know he's been on. The "who's looking at the thread thing" is not 100% accurate. That being said he has had a lot of time to defend himself, and if he doesn't defend himself in a timely manner or satisfactorily, then those last three votes should be easy to obtain.

Who uses a one-shot alignment copping night 1 when odds are at their worst that you'll get lucky??
Plus, weren't you (Philthy) the one arguing that day 1 leads aren't trustworthy because no one knows anything for sure. I'd be interested to hear what made you so sure on Nifty that you'd blast a one-shot straight out of the gate.
That said...
Change Vote CaptainNifty
It's way too early and the game is too big to make a fake-copping play, and I find it much more likely that Philp hit his target than not in a game this size.
I generally want to use my most useful stuff soonest, otherwise I fear I will die without having used the power, so I get that.
OK, but when you pressure-to-claim and the person's been on and not responded, how do you take that?
Just a data point for people to know; I'm not drawing conclusions from it:
Mich last posted (elsewhere) when he had 5 votes here, and has not said anything. He may not have read the thread, or he may not have considered 5 votes worthy of a response, or he may have not wanted to reply for various reasons.
And to your point about Day 1's -- There are no solid leads on Day 1. To me, that means we shouldn't go outing each other, exposing themes/claims/power sets to whatever mafia member is going to be pressured first. I'm perfectly fine with choosing Night 1 targets based on Day 1 words -- how else would you do it (apart from random.org)?
Not to resurrect the D1 argument, but how do you expect to get meaningful Day 1 words without any kind of Day 1 pressure? (Rhetorical, please let's don't do this dance again right now)

I know this is kinda your neurosis, but we've got 5 hours and its the middle of the day, when most people are around. We'll be fine.

....aaaaand Nifty posted while I was posting that. Yes, we don't know if he looked at the thread, but we do know he was on the Realms when he had 5 votes.
I don't find that all that damning in itself, but it's data. If he doesn't reply today, I would find that damning.
I'll hold off my vote for the moment, but if we don't get anything from michiganj24 by 11/11:30ish (roughly 1-1 and a half hours from now) I'll put my vote in on him.
I tried to RT Rokk. I was told that I was the only one who targeted my target. That clearly means two things. 1) I didn't actually target Rokk because he was clearly targeted by multiple people in the write-up. 2) I was messed with.
I don't distrust philthy's information. I just know he didn't hit me.
Vote: mich
I know the votes are piling up, but he needs enough pressure that when he gets on he fully claims.
