Whamme, i dissagree with what you say there. i have made my point, said how i feel about it, as have you. i dont seem to be able to turn your point of veiw over to mine and you are unlikely to be able to change my point of veiw to yours.
at this point, i dont think that continueing the debate will be productive. so i bid you good night.
Just answer this: How can a definition of /playable/ be unconnected to whether a card sees play?
what i am saying is the card is of a quality to be playable. the effect on Avengers Assemble is playable, it is VERY similar to that of Soveriegn Superior.
honestly the biggest differance in the two cards it the quality of the cards that it requires to be effective competitively.

that is my point, and has been all along.
Whether it could become playable is neither here nor there when it comes to whether it IS playable. If Manhunters acquired a free RP theme Manhunter Spacecraft might become good too. Actually, it would take a lot less for the Spacecraft to become good than AA - a 2 drop Army Manhunter that gave you a free RP per turn would do it.

there are already ways to gain resource points to use with Payment Powers. Radioactive Man, Unfair Advantage, Titania, Goliath, Ultron V. UDE is very cautous about printing ways to gain RPs and only do so with severe costs. and Radioactive Man's downside really isnt a problem for Manhunter after turn 3 since it can just put 3 drops into play.
Manhunters also have the problem of thier theme not being very stong. so infact Spacecraft need the same thing as AA and then some to be "good" in your book.

RP acceleration is good. Manhunters just need a few more ways to abuse it. Avengers Leader needs almost an entire new curve and a new set of support cards.
And if it gave you a RP, but only to spend on locations and and printed Manhunters... that's not very broken. Or indeed, someone like Radioactive Man. The MoE RP accel was very unaggressively costed, the next time they do it they /will/ make it cheaper.
Thing is, I'm saying AA and MS are both bad tutors... neither is good with the existing cardpool.
Permenant 10/13 character on turn 1... who also can't be targeted by the opponent and draws you cards each time they play from the resource row.
Yes, Yes, I know ... but still, anything that can facilitate that deserves SOME respect.
If Manhunters ever get a solid 4-Drop Substitute of their own ... well he/she (and they) might actually see a little bit of play, at least at lower levels, simply due to what Sleeper Agent can do to 4-Drop Substitutes.
You know... I think there is going to be a lot of errata, or rules writing, because this works with Conjuration, but Sleeper Agents is WAY better, Turn one, Manhunter Clone
Reveal The Agents (so for the cost of a resource you get a 5/4 character on turn 1.) Then Substitute Sleeper Agents out for Darkseid 4 Drop.
Turn 2, Shaligo, Reveal The Agents (so for the cost of a resource you get a 5/4 character on turn 2.) Then Substitute Sleeper Agents out for Darkseid 4 Drop.

you do realize that if you pop out a Sleeper Agent on turn 1, the following turn you will only have 1 resource (assuming you would lay one of course) and therefore only have 1 resource point to spend to recrute a character and therefore not be able to recrute Shaligo.
also, when you Substitute a character you check for uniqueness so if you manage to get a second Sleeper Agent for turn 2 and Sub in a second Darksied you would have to place the older Darksied in the KO'd pile due to uniqueness.

I miss calculated, and anyway Ancient Evils would take care of that
I meant to for go the first sleeper, because I would want a resource for turn two for Shaligo.
So the way I would have wanted to do it would be Manhunter clone for turn one
THEN turn two do Shaligo, flip Ancient Evils, Reveal a Manhunter Character, Now Darkseid has Manhunter and go to town with Plans with in Plans.
And of course place a Sleeper in the front and sub in Darkseid 4 drop.
Ban Last Stand and Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Those pumps are too powerful!
[sarcasm] Yes, let's, I can see last stand being placed in every deck for fear of more than 3 guys would ever get stunned, and Earth's Mightiest Heroes just stops every other plot twist being played in a turn, definatley a 4 of in every deck[/sarcasm]
