OK, why not. Here's my standard 300 pt tourney team.
Cosmic Boy R
Johnny Alpha R
Firelord E
Aquaman V
Major Maxim V
Robin V
Jane Foster LE
Reporter BYSTANDER
299pts
This team is really mobile. Aquaman can pick up the soda machine and get TKed over to hit for 6 damage with his 11 attack. Aquaman and Firelord can hide behind a wall of stealth until they get TKed. If I face a Superman cheese army, I can use Firelord's barrier for protection instead. The pog is a reserve for later on in the game when everyone is hurt. She has the best movement of all the pogs and the best defense for her cost. She serves as cheap moving terrain or a tie up piece.
So what do you think? I win a lot with this team and get complaints that it's cheap. Can someone explain how a team with no outwit, perplex, or pulse wave is cheap? And no, Firelord is not cheap!

Forgot 2 mention that 1st place prize was Dr. Leonard Samson. Anyhoo .... Decided to try something different (that IS the point of collecting so many cool figs, right?) So's I built this team:
V Gambit 51
V Jean Grey 50
V Magdalena 47 (My FAV!)
LE Raven Darkholme 39
E Black Panther 36
E Shadowcat 33
E Destiny 23
&
V Checkmate medic (try not to laugh He's killed several Superhumans for that, Including Amazo, Eclipso, & Allllllllmost Magog , God bless perplex)
Hey, Ando, This team look Playable? 300 pts., open, Dupes are fine.
LE Teth-Adam 110
V Deathstroke 58
V Taskmaster 75
R Jean Grey 31
E Paramedic
V Con Artist
Look playable in a tourney?
Cave Carson KO list: SN Thanos, CA #40 Captain America...
Hey ive got a 600 pts Mixed team tourney I was thinking of building something like this.
Johny Alpha V
Mandorid Armor R
Destiny R
Con Artist R
Kabuki V
Nightwing V
Deathstroke V
Spiral U
Elektra U
Boon LE
Ulik V
600 pts
Im thinking of replacing Ulik with either Despero or Shazam U not sure if its worth it though
Third Place Winner, Boneyards Contest. Huzzzah!
Finallly, Guy Gardner has Arrived in the world of Heroclix! Galactus, Fin Fan Foom, and Spectre beware!
I went to a tournament on Friday expecting a 300 pt match. It was changed to 400 pts and I s####ed the old team I made. In about 10 min I made this.
V Green Arrow
V Blizzard
E Blackcat
E Paramedic
E Con Artist
R Jean Grey
R Deathstroke
R Mystique
E Venom
E Cheetah
V HandNinja ranged
It worked out pretty well. The first game was kind of slow because I have never used a team that used perplex so much. The other teams I went up against all had at least one fig more than 100 pts. I ended up winning 2 of 3 games. The second game was the best game I have ever had. On the first turn a Morgana Le Fe moved up an tried to mind control 3 of my figs. Luckily she mixed by rolling a 3 and my retaliation was unbelievable. I moved up deathstroke and outwitted her invulnerability and then moved Blackcat up copying brotherhood. I tked up Cheetah and charged for a bcf attack. I got it and rolled 6. Then Blizzard did a running shot to finish Morgana off. This team above has many options and with 3 perplexers it can be very unpredictable.
Since I have very limited pieces available to me AT the Moment.. My team is this:
E Batman 92
E Batman 92
R Cosmic Boy 45
V Easy Company Medic 19
V Green Arrow 50
-----------------------
298
Ok. Two Batmen = carp. That's just my opinion, but it lacks imagination and is just lame. 2 X Dual Incapacitate with Willpower, Perma-Stealth, and Outwit would be handy, but a bit... ahem... redundant.
I have *rarely* had occasion to use more than one outwit in a single round, and two just really isn't necessary. Batman is a nice piece, but he does lack any kind of damage reduction, and sometimes it's nice to have a piece with some staying power. A TKer and a good flying + Charge fig can seriously ruin Batman's day. So let's just skip this team. I think it could be effective, but I also think you could get worked.

I could always sub in a V Nightwing instead of E Batman, but I don't have too many filler pieces on me worth 22 Points or less.....
Just to give you an idea of what I have at the moment..
3 X V Doomsday
2 X V Nightwing
2 X E Batman
2 X V Changeling
1 X V Batman
2 X V Swampthing
1 X V Aquaman
1 X LE TO Morrow
1 X LE Carter Hall
1 X LE Jervis Tetch
1 X U Spiderman (black suit)
1 X U Wolverine (black suit)
1 X V Steel
2 X LE Plasticman
1 X E Flash
And the team from Tuesday...
1 X E Saturn Girl
1 X R Cosmic Boy
1 X V Nightwing
1 X U Despero
1 X R Blue Beetle
1 X V Venom
1 X V EC Medic
1 X V Green Arrow
Any suggestions on how to build a 300 point open out of these? :P
Should I use Despero as my main piece, or go with a few attackers (ie Batmans and Nightwings)
Dupes allowed.
Ok: First of all you need to make some friends in the trading forums and get rid of all your dupes for some more figs. You don't have that much of a collection to work with and that's going to put you at a serious disadvantage.
With an extra Batman, Nightwing, a couple of Vet Doomsdays and Plasticman LE you should be able to get a nice sack of somebody's extras. I have a bunch of Critical Mass R/E/V's that I'll gladly trade you for your LE Plasticman alone...PM me if you're interested....
I think the team you used from Tuesday is as strong as any other team you can make from the rest of your figs, but just for kicks I'll see what I can come up with:
ugh.. it's tough with the figs you have... not many under 30 figs makes things very difficult...
Here's a team for you:
V Swamp Thing 93
R Cosmic Boy 45
V Nightwing 72
V Green Arrow 50
R Blue Beetle 26
R Easy Co. Medic 9
295
If you had the figs we'd upgrade and round that out to something closer to 300, but until you do some trading that's all I got for now...
Sorry I've been away from the computer... I'll get to everyone as soon as I can...
If you're a family man (i'm married), then you probaly don't et to sit down too often, trust me, I know. Anyhoots, I decided to sit down & make some changes after I got run over by Supergirl. This new team has won me 4 friendly games, tourny styles with little losses (Checkmate medeic Bagged Dr. Doom & Batgirl in one game )
V Gambit 51
V Magdalena 47 (My FAV!)
R Cosmic Boy 45
E Abby Chase 45
LE Raven Darkholme 39
E Shadowcat 33
R Destiny 20
&
V Checkmate medic
Build total: 299
This team offers me more mobility, better manuverability, & lots of versitility. so far the most efftive offensive peices are Maggie & Checkmate Medic (Who my friends all despise now, lol). I was wondering what you thought of the changes? is it too standard now? All the best, Have fun, & don't forget 2 relax!

Firelord isn't cheap. He's 'cheap' as in you get a great deal for what you pay for him. Few figs under 100 points can deal 4 clix of damage - much less 5 with a 11 + AV, so Firelord takes the bang-for-buck prize in my opinion. People call him 'cheap' because they don't like to face him. He can win tournaments single-handedly and doesn't take a whole lot of brain-power to use effectively. You want to use Firelord: That's your perrogative and more power to you, but be prepared for people to complain when you beat them. They're not necessarily *right* to complain, but that is their perrogative as well...
That said, I think your team could kick some major butt. You've got a lot of damage-dealing potential in each of your attacking pieces and enough mobility to get them in place and ready to do damage in the same turn or the next. I'm not big on Major Maxim, but his Veteran is a pretty nasty character for the points you pay and he could work will with this team... although if it were me I would trade him out for a figure that has charge...
The Reporter is an interesting meat-barrier and I would probably snicker if my opponent brought one and be frustrated when he/she was blocking my LOF.
Nice team and thanks for posting it for review. Sorry it's taken me so long to respond....
Sorry for my leate reply, but I was away for my Easter holidays and with no internet facilities.
What you said is perfectly right. The team I suggested is good, but if I want to win, I’ll need HSS.
So I got rid of Annihilus, and made other modifications (by the way, the latest news is that Unleashed figures are allowed):
E Supergirl 133
U Nightcrawler 83
E Saturn Girl 59
R Cosmic Boy 45
R Jean Grey 31
R Lobster Johnson 41
LE Dominic Petros 22
LE George Tarleton 16
R Robin 17
R Paramedic 8
R Con Artist 11
R Con Artist 11
R Con Artist 11
R Con Artist 11
Total 499 pts
I have 4 hookers and Saturn Girl to provide 5 sources of Perplex, and 2 figures with Barrier. I have 1 figure with HSS and 1 with RS; Supergirl also provides my wildcards her cousin's TA, for Lobster Johnson to outwit stealthed figures and for Saturn Girl to mind control stealthed figures. I have 14 figures (are they too many?) and I have no PC.
LE Superman 236
R Saturn Girl 44
R Cosmic Boy 45
R Jean Grey 31
R Lobster Johnson 41
LE Dominic Petros 22
LE George Tarleton 16
V Robin 20
E Paramedic 10
R Con Artist 11
R Con Artist 11
R Con Artist 11
Total 500 pts
Now I have 4 sources of Perplex only, and 12 figures.
R Steel 66
U Nightcrawler 83
E Saturn Girl 59
R Cosmic Boy 45
R Jean Grey 31
E Lobster Johnson 53
V Calypso 46
LE Dominic Petros 22
LE George Tarleton 16
LE Jane Foster 16
R Robin 17
E Con Artist 12
E Con Artist 12
R Con Artist 11
R Con Artist 11
Total 500 pts
Yes, I like the Superman TA... Now I have 15 figures, and I am back with 4 hookers and E Saturn Girl.
V Calypso provides me PC. But after the hooker bomb is activated, she will be the target of a single-target PW attack by Dominic Petros, taking 2 clicks of damage and landing on her TK click. This way I'll have a third TKer, and I suppose my opponent will be taken off guard...
Ando, please tell me which of these teams is the best, or give me a different, good team. This is the first time I build a 500 pt team, and, as you see, I am completely lost...

Well thanks for understanding... I've been having a harder time keeping up with my Team-building Support thread. Have been extremely busy at work and the slow periods are usually when I find time to peruse the realms and help build teams. Just haven't had much free-time lately - sorry guys.
I like this team quite a bit. It has some under-used figures that are some of my fav's:
Checkmate Medics, Magdalena, Abbey Chase, and Shadowcat. If we subbed Jean Grey for Cosmic boy it would be all women with Gambit as the pimp! HA!
(Checkmate Medics could be women!)
I like the changes you've made here and I think this team has a little bit of everything that adds up to a very nice group. Personally I might d/g Shadowcat and Raven Darkholme to Rookies and u/g Cosmic Boy for a better AV, but that's just a possible tweak rather than something that you should definitely do.
Now, aren't you GLAD you waited 3 days for THAT carppy feedback?
I am a newer player and have a 400pt marvel team used in open tournys, my idea ishave the stealth figues go in and force the oppenent into h to h battle then have the medics and rangers as backup
v firelord
r magneto
r sheild medic
e hydra medic
r blade
r mole man
e sabertooth
e daredevi (cm)
i have a small collection but if u could suggest some replacements i might have them or similar or it could give me something i can try to trade for or win. plz send me a pm so i know when u'v replied
