I can't think of any legit reason for the person running the pairings to vote last, immediately before closing the thread. It feels to me as if the final vote is more likely to be motivated by how other people are voting than by some independent assessment of the songs.
Why not vote first, when a voting thread is created? Why wait until the bitter end, making sure that one (or two, when tie-breakers are "forced") person's votes are always counted? Is it common that the voting threads will be locked and the person running the event hasn't voted?

Mrs. G might say that "being annoying" is my schtick, too But yes, I've been voting last since before the first time DTM talked about quitting Rock Wars. I'm the last or next to last vote over in the Wrestling Entrance one, too (which I'm not running). It's what I do.

Please don't. Everyone will be good in a few days. We need varied tastes and opinions (and let's be honest, we need numbers )
I have developed a newfound love for Chappell Roan
I saw her on a late night TV show lately, and before seeing it, didn’t really expect much. Turned out, I really enjoyed it. I’ve learned that keeping an open mind can lead to enjoying good music from genres that may have been dismissed before.
The truth is that Rock is not as popular as it used to be. Lots of retreads and “legacy” bands. I saw a rockabilly band called Red Clay Strays last night; probably won’t ever be a favorite but enjoyed their energy. Recently listened to Jelly Roll and was shocked by how good he is. The point is that there may not be as much new good music from the genres that I have always loved, but there is still new music to enjoy when one is open to it.
Well, lets go back in time after the song above. Rock and Roll was in its infancy and getting ready to take over the world. We've seen the evolution from Doo-Wop, Rockabilly and pop ditties to today's wild and varied sounds. I found this clip from 1956 when the Mayor of Jersey City banned rock and roll music. You know that was not gonna play out well. This is a newsclip from that time. Love how the newscaster tries to bop along to the music. The lingo... mwah. love it.
Kanami Tono, in my opinion, is the heart of Band-Maid. She writes their music and plays lead guitar. She recently acquired a PRS Private Stock Custom 24-08. These guitars start at $10-$20K. I've been fortunate to sample several, and they are superb, beautiful, and I'm currently trying to buy a used one. Don't think I will be able to swing that but can dream.
A few days ago, it was announced that PRS is releasing a Kanami Tono Limited Signature model. As I understand it, she is the first Japanese artist to have a signature model with PRS, so it's sort of a big deal in the guitar world. Limited to 200, they retail for $5,980. I tried "window" shopping for one, and they appear to already have sold out everywhere. For any musicians, here is a link to the PRS online introduction. It is her demonstrating the guitar and includes some concert footage. I think it's also a good introduction to the group.
