By the way, yesterday I attended David Eclips' military promotion ceremony - David was promoted to the rank of Lt. Colonel (well deserved). After the ceremony, a young Army guy came up to say 'hi' - it was Tyler. It was great to see Tyler again - has to be at least 6 months now. Unfortunately, I was a bit distracted with David's ceremony and Tyler had to run back to his unit, so we did not get a chance to talk much. Tyler looks great and appears to be as happy as ever. Just thought I'd let you know.
I just watched the Black Freighter/Under the Hood (digital cable on demand) and I liked it. They put alot of thought/effort into Under the hood. Great stuff!
Hey Guys. Been awhile since I posted. Read all the stuff, didn't have much too add. But figured might as well say hi and talk about life.
Dave "Bubblehead" Williams is coming to town next weekend for the FCBD signings at Comic Oasis. Not sure how many days in town, but he would like to see everyone. We'll be at Oasis most of the day Sat. Also going to see the Wolverine moive with him.
A little info from Quiet Storm. You can check out Comic Oasis' Website for more info on the signings.
I'm really stoked for Wolverine. Pretty sure doing a midnight showing. Also one more during weekend w/ Dave. Anyone want to try and do a group get together. East side of town for me, Boulder/Sams/Sunset.
Jim are you uber excited for the Star Trek film??? Saw the toy line yesterday, not that impressed. The Enterpirse toy looked alright. Don't like the new design of the nacelle's. And I hope it is grey and not white in the moive. Doesn't look right.
For the action figures there is a 9" line and 3 3/4" line (G.I. Joe size). I've been spending alot of money on the DC Universe and Marvel 3 3/4" figs. Have them all around my living room. IMO the Wolve movie ones are the best, the Xmen cartoon line is worst. But they still don't compare to the Joe's.
The next time any of you see Tyler tell him "You Can't See Me" while waving your hand in front of your face.
eBay is the sh*t. Surprised the h*ll out of me when I was able to sell my Crimson Skies & Shadowrun figures. Yeah a blast from the past. They went within 2 days! Have unopend boxes of the Star Trek TCG up there now. Next box in the closet to post...Action Figures.
If any of you spell check this post I will Junk Shot you the next time I see you.
Here is the next thing to waste alot of your time. hulu.com. That site is uber addictive. Do a search for Family Guy "Bag of Weed".
I don't want to play a game of chess where dumb luck or money decides whether or not I get to use a rook... Collectibility is a necessary evil of Heroclix, not a boon.
Really, Shadow Run figs... I guess you really can sell anything on ebay.
Yes you can. Every WizKids product has moved for me. By going to cons we've all acquired various figures/promos for the WizKids games. Last month moved what little Pirates I had. The Santa Claus promo ship went for $31!
The only game line that has no value is the Race Day - NASCAR construable game. Virtually worthless. Every other line moves.
Have the last trace of my WizKids days up now. Doing pretty well. SportsClix

So far I've done quite well and gone spoiler free on this movie. I don't know who any of the characters are in the movie, other than Wolverine himself. I have no idea what the plot is, and I want to keep it that way. However, I do want to quiz the audience at large...how good of a movie do you think this will be?
Please don't give me detailed reasons for your opinion, or things that would spoil the movie itself.
I'm worried that we're coming off of a great movie high, with both Iron Man and Dark Knight being such strong comic book movies (last year), and Watchmen doing a great job this year.
Contrarily, the last X-Men movie was horrible (imo), and Van Helsing was even worse. So while I will definitely go see the movie, my expectations for Wolverine are not very high. I don't know who is writing or producing, so I don't know what they've been involved with before.
So, without too much detail, what are you expectations for the movie?
I have heard from about 20 people that at least the work copy was excellent even unfinished. These were all to some degree CBGs so I am positive about the film.
Star Trek will be the film to beat quality wise this summer (not counting UP! which will dominate)
I am uber stoked for the Wolverine moive. My expectations are high, that it will be a great action film. Don't expect it to rival Dark Knight. Kinda the case I know the level from past films, expect that, and will get it and be happy.
And for the record, G.I. Joe is the movie to beat this summer.
I want to see wolverine and I am very forgiving of movies so I will probably enjoy it no matter what.
For example I actually liked X3 (not saying its the best ever, just that I liked it for the most part)
as for G.I. Joe:
Spoiler (Click in box to read)
IF the Videogame preview is correct (I think I read it in Play magazine)
The suits that the Joe's wear enhance thier speed, reflexes, and proabaly ( if I remember right) strength when they say the activation code " Go Joe" whether thats good or bad remains to be seen.
Also in addition to Cobra the coorporation that makes the Joe's weapons will turn trator and work for Cobra (or something like that).
I don't want to play a game of chess where dumb luck or money decides whether or not I get to use a rook... Collectibility is a necessary evil of Heroclix, not a boon.
