So, if you were H&C, and you if you were mafia, and you got called out for fake-claiming the tracker, would you and your mafia consider silencing and then killing the real tracker? Or would that be a stupid plan?

Would this scenario work the other way around, if Shadow40 were lying?

Could they feasibly blame this on another mafia or naughty neutrals?

I would say "Yes" on the plan being viable and on the two other ways around (especially since we don't know CaptainNifty's identity at this time). Trying to blame it on someone other than themselves though doesn't gain them any sympathy - busted Mafia is still busted Mafia.

I would like to think that any town doctor's or such would pick up on Shadow40 being silenced and make sure to protect him if that's the case. Silence and Kill is such a played out mafia trick I'm actually surprised when people use it.

I'd think the same with H&C.

Though, that's my opinion on the matter. Shadow40 has been fairly valuable as a talkative townie thus far. I'm still fairly anti-H&C at this point. I almost always like to work the busted claim angle.

Though, we do have Ouchmaker possibly silenced as well. He was fairly vocal last phase IIRC.

The thing here is that it's not a busted claim...yet.

Shadow40 came right out and said he's Werewolf by Night - which, we should remember, is not a solid claim either with a janitoured role out there - and a tracker. Fair enough - he's the tracker.

However, H&C hasn't given us a character yet and could easily also be a tracker for a couple reasons.

1. Vision does like to sometimes double-up powers.
2. He could have used a power which gives him tracking results.

Not saying H&C isn't guilty but it seems a bit rookie to claim "Tracker" knowing the real tracker is still likely out there to bust you and it's not like you're luring out the Vig or the Doctor.

That's true I suppose. I haven't really been in a Vision game before.

Werewolf by Night is just sooo perfect as a Tracker though. Granted, it could be the janitor'd claim, and Shadow made a bold move.

Speaking of Janitor's it'd be awesome if we had a Rezzer to bring Nifty back.

It'd be at least one claim we wouldn't have to worry about.

No, I'm not silenced. And no, I wasn't that vocal. Just trying to figure out what is going on, I know most of the major characters from the comics, but the events are less known.

OK. We're about to waste another day phase without a lynch. Our best leads are blocked, so I'm going to start this admittedly sketchy line of thought to see where it goes.

I suggested a few posts back that among the short list of potentially silenced players, at least one of them was probably mafia. A little less than a page later, Ouchmaker shows up, showing he isn't silenced. Could the mafia have seen my post and decided maybe its not a good idea to stay quiet?

Yes, I realize this is flimsy, but I don't think any flimsier than most of the Hey, lets lynch the quiet ones trains that get started. Let's see if we can wrangle some info out of this day before the mafia gets to janitor another townie.
