Somebody in one of the Ogre threads said that the LPC threads lacked substance. Since then, variations of that phrase have been repeated here entirely too often.
Personally, I'm okay with a little friendly rivalry between groups, but lately there have been times where it's been close to downright hostile with the snarky remarks from both sides. Which is really weird when one considers that there is overlap in posters that hang out in both threads.
Ah, alright. Just trying to get some background. Only here to jaw.
Longest-Reigning Drunken HeroClix Champion - anyone got a liver?

Given that there are people that hang out in both groups, perhaps what is said in either thread should be a little more guarded, rather than heaping the blame entirely on the LPC. We're here to have fun.
In short: Don't start none, won't be none. All I'm going to say about it.
There's a flavor difference. I can't put any of my three fingers on it, but it's there.
I've scanned over the LPCs before and the one thing that sticks out is that no one ever tackles anything of substance. It seems like, in their desire to have a safe place of fun, there's nothing worth doing.
I made a comment in here once that another poster thought was homophobic. We had an exchange and found common ground. I think that I, as a straight man, AND he are/were BOTH better off for it by the end. We had a rational exchange on a hot button topic and didn't end up calling each other names or putting each other on ignore lists.
That has worth.
It's my impression that some LPC guys "left" here for there because they didn't like when things got "heavy".
That's fine. They can do whatever they like.
I, for one, find them to be a little too 'fraternal'.
It's why I'm going to resist anyone around here trying to give us a membership list or a mission statement or ALL OF US STARTING OUR POSTS THE SAME WAY or anything like that.
But that's fine. If that's what they want to do, that's up to them and they are free to do it. It's just not for me.
Well, it's also not for me because I'm pretty sure that some of them "left" here because of me and I wouldn't be welcome, but that's not my motive here anyway.
Aw, damn. This post, in and of itself, is a violation of the rules as far as I'm concerned. Some other Lone Ogre better put me in my place.
I found it funny. Couldn't care one way or the other.
Catering to the lowest common denominator since Feb 2003.

This post has entirely too much substance. I call "shenanigns".

Ah, alright. Meh, whatever. We're all just jawing here.
Thanks for the clarification!
For the record, no one here really cares one way or the other re: Haven's unforutnate word choice.
It's an easy target so we ran with it because it's funny. That's how we roll.
Or at least it was before folk decided to get butt-hurt over it and start a hug-a-thon or whatever
