I need some serious input on balancing a cult, specifically what to do once a cult leader dies. I think one thing I will change next time is to make the SK and Vig immune to the cult.
Props the quebbster for being the Keeper of Secrets. When Silver died, I had told him that Rokk was Mafia, and after Rokk died, Silver accidentally posted in the replacement thread that Rokk was mafia (not sure if he was thinking he was PMing me, or if he didn't realize Rokk was accidentally janitored), but he caught his mistake very quickly and PMed me to let me know what happened. I told him that Quebbs was going to replace fastcat, and he then PMed Quebbs congratulating him, but he did so by replying, then switching my name out Quebbs', leaving in the info about Rokk (this is why he was mod-rezzed and mod-killed, cause it was all I could do =P).
Anyway, a few night phases later, TDS accidentally sent his action to Quebbs instead of me, thus confidently claiming to Quebbs. I did nothing because Quebbs was neutral, TDS had no real pressure, and he already knew 1 secret.

There are basically two ways to handle it. Either someone else gets the ability to recruit new Cultists, or the Cult loses the ability to recruit. Both have their drawbacks.
If you are really nice you can de-Cult the members once the leader dies, but that is troublesome as well.
By the way, I am considering including a link to your glossary when I run All Stars, since it does cover most of the stuff you'll encounter. It will obviously need a disclaimer that it may not be 100% accurate.
BTW new players, you're welcome to play too. All Stars games are fairly beginner friendly since all roles are from other games, so you can look up exactly what the claims are.

AS11 was one of the first games I played, and one of 3 of my big early wins (all games were going on at the same time). I think I was the only person who enjoyed that game though...
I am thinking that I will make it that only people without a kill power can be recruited (so any Town or Survivors).
I don't see a big problem in the vig getting recruited. Survivors, on the other hand, are a bit counterintuitive to recruit since they may be able to win with the Cult. Also, a Cult should have a limited membership - if there are too many cultists it slows things down. Recruiting Survivors doesn't really help them then.

I think Rob Zombie was the reason anonym0use didn't want to participate in AS12. Too bad, because he had some really fun roles.
I think part of the problem was that people got bored of banging their heads against the wall after a while though since there was literally no progress.

My thought in making the vig excusable is for copping balance. If everyone that is unrecruitable is Mafia or Neutral, then he can pass more as a cop. Making the vig unrecruitable could make the Cult Leader think they are Mafia, call them out, then get in trouble. Feels more Neutral to me.

I don't think this should be an absolute rule. It is common for recruiters to try to pose as cops, though, but on the other hand that is part of the meta too. And usually the Cultist tries to lay low about who he has targeted...
It's good to have unrecruitable roles. You don't have to go with the same ones every time though.
