BTW, never watched Community. Have no idea whereof you speak.
And now for something completely different:

"Community" is one of the best American shows. It's hilarious - especially for those who enjoy meta or takes on the sitcom standards - with a fabulous cast (many of whom are associated with other greatest roles or are heading that way - like recently getting an Oscar). It's also one of the more optimistic and, frankly, "warm" shows out there and really reminds you that a community is what you make of it.
No joke, I'd consider it practically a personal favour if you would hop on Hulu and give the show a try for at least a few of its' episodes (I can recommend a good starting path if you want to only try three or so).
I actually feel happy when the show is on the air...no matter how that ruins my image.

Well, having used to write them for money - one night "stories" - back as an undergrad I was going to offer to help but then saw you Brittaed the use of "Britta'ed".

Raising Hope is pretty good as well. I was looking for a 30 minute comedy and saw it in the new stuff on Netflix...checked it out and got hooked. It's a "warm" show as well where they have some sort of issue and then in the end find out things aren't as they seem. Like one episode they thought they were all stupid but in the end they find out they are each smart in different subjects making them really smart as a unit(well family...). If you have 30 minutes to kill I'd suggest just watching the first episode, pretty sure just about any one would enjoy it .
I know a good number of people who gave up on the show. Some have read the books, some haven't. Every problem they cite leads back to budget cuts. In fact, most of my complaints are for that reason as well.
I still think it's a great show, but it's weak comparatively. I am very glad that they've decided to only take key plot points from the comics. overall, it feels like a very different story, which is cool. I think it'd really bother me if they just changed small things. They should either do it exactly the same or drastically different.
1. Gave up on the show.
2. Never read the comic.
3. Wasn't because of budget cuts.
I stopped watching it because I quickly tired of the "And now it gets even worse!" storylines. I enjoy something that has some sort of frequency between bad #### happening and awesome #### happening. It is always bad #### happening.
I felt the Season 1 finale explained this very very well, and I felt it was an excellent Series Finale, as far as I was concerned. It was only going to go downhill for the characters, and I just didn't have the will to put up with it.
Movies and shows are like board games, to me. At some point, it needs to get the hell off the table, and make room for something else. And that was what Walking Dead wouldn't do for me, so I tableflipped.
EDIT: I'll also say that due to the writing style, I have no interest in the comic whatsoever. I've been every indication it's just more depressing and gruesome. Getting punched in the nuts is cheaper.

This probably sums it up (spoiler alert if you haven't seen the episode from two weeks ago!)

Very strongly disagree with this I do, yes.
It's nothing that wasnt done better many times before.
Married With Children, The Simpsons, Malcolm In The Middle, and countless other sitcoms are better examples in my opinion.
But, of course everything is subjective. So who knows.
