ST:AW wave 28 - one new ship and two repaints (like wave 27). I have a feeling that this game wont last much longer.

I haven't been paying much attention since I left the game a while back, but it even seems like the reprints aren't even updating the mechanics, like having the timer function on the torpedoes and whatnot.

The reprints are exactly the same as their original iterations, with the exception that the paint job tends to be better.

at some point, that "small store" website (and FLGS here in St. Louis) will be remaindering them out at far less than full retail ...

and I may still not purchase them ...

While in theory updating some of the cards to include new mechanics makes sense, it also isn't really necessary as you can easily play either timer torpedoes or disable torpedoes. There are upgrades that help with both. Really it is a pretty good idea to re-release these as Almost every attack wing player is going to want the main fed ships. Adding updated paint is a nice touch.

A lot of players don't like the time tokens mechanic. I think it's cool personally, but some people want to be more hands on with re-enabling things. I wish they would have included one or two changes/additions, but the paint is a nice touch.

I have a hard time purchasing figures at this point for full retail. I have almost everything I could want, and currently there's so many people trying to sell their old ships (especially the first few waves) that most of them tend to be $10 or less. I'm planning on buying some retail ships this weekend but that's only to help the venue for carrying it and running tournaments.

At this point, I wish WK would just release card packs with new upgrades so we could get things like Guinan, a Federation Tasha Yar, or some Changlings.

They've been doing a lot of one new ship with two reissues lately. They also cut back production to be once every two months again.

Yeah, Tholians really got the shaft. Especially for a race that basically invented the swarm build.

when it came out at retail, I was pissed.

and the fact that there's no "#2" version, still ... makes no sense whatsoever.

But why do I care? I haven't played the game in quite a while, so ... it's a nice "shiny" in my collection.

The ship was annoying, but what was worse for me was a lack of Captains. I get that I could toss Calvin Hudson or Annorax on there, but if I'm running Tholians (or Gorn for that matter), I'd like to be able to represent them as Tholian pure. I guess that's asking a lot, but at least a third captain would have been nice.
