The Origin Of Spider-Man: When another friendly character would be KO'd, roll 1d6. 4-6: They are instead turned to their last non-KO click. // When Uncle Ben is KO'd, place him in your Sideline on click #1.
(35)Inspirational Death: SIDELINE ACTIVE: At the beginning of your turn, choose a friendly character with a shared keyword. Uncle Ben can use his printed damage power at no cost as if he was adjacent to the chosen character. At the end of your turn, roll 1d6. 1-2: Turn this dial 1 click to the right.
With Great Power...
...There Must Also Come Great Responsibility
The weather gets me knocked down and I come back to two dead father figures!
.....If tomorrow I look and there's an Aunt May that allows you to make a deal with Mephisto if she gets KO'ed I'm going to be very worried.
Jack hits like a hammer, he may have lost a few steps over the years, but he's gained a lot of tough and ornery to make up the difference.
I Won't Take A Dive, Not With My Boy Watching: this is a delisciously thematic trait that ensures that Jack is going to leave his mark no matter what your opponent does to prevent it.
With Charge and a opening Three Damage Jack isn't going to hang back and right to his last click he's a wrecking machine.
......and I'm totally going to play him on Maggia teams ( he was an *enforcer its legit! ).
He's going to play great as talented muscle....I just have to make sure I don't run into any Daredevil fans.
* Enforcer with a "Little e"
Uncle Ben, always most useful when he's dead!
The Origin Of Spider-Man:....Ahhhhhh, so do I keep Ben alive and shoot for that 50/50 chance to keep one of my pieces on the map.
...Or do I "ahem" speed Ben to his reward to get early access to those Damage powers Ben wields with Inspirational Death:
I have the feeling that Ben is going to be whispered in the same breath with "Lian Harper" in the annuals of Heroclix expendability!
"I may not see the road I ride for the witch-fire lamps that gleam;"But phantoms glide at my bridle-side, and I follow a nameless Dream." R.E. Howard

Signature Move: Bonesaw: If Crusher Hogan has 1 action token, Flying Leap. If he began the action adjacent to 2+ Ropes and is on a blue click number instead modify damage +X, where X is his click number. Hey Freakshow! You're Going Nowhere. I Got You For Three Minutes. Three Minutes Of Playtime!: STOP. Nimble, Reversal.

and that segue was very much on purpose
don't worry, i only realized that i could have made aunt may as a resculpt of auntie freeze after i had finished the set . besides, resculpting chases would be weird

i based this dial off of his '07 self-titled mini series. it got more into his own back story, his highs and lows breaking kneecaps for the mob before getting sober, getting back in the ring, all to find out it was a mob ploy to setup his big dive that he refused to take. it helped to establish his tough-luck character more and the side-romance with josie (of josie's bar) was the glimmer of dashed hope that every good noir needs.
i wanted him to feel tenacious but not op. that he could go a few rounds and catch you offguard with how hard he's gonna make it for you. jack wasn't a machine but he was full of no-quit. mid dial his stats drop off hard as he starts gassing, but the last click has a big bump back up to show his heart overcoming his old bones. the anti-dive giving him outwit, perplex (including friendly, gotta keep it all on the up and up) protection will make his modest package pop out a bit more, but twisting your opponent's pc into making him aa crit machine felt like the way to turn the tables on the mob's plan to make him lose only for him to shove that right down their throats (yay short-term gain! it's the principal, darnit!) as he leveled crusher creel (yay, continuity nod!).

the "ghost" of uncle ben was always more present than he ever was. so i designed the dial to retain most of its function whether he's been KO'd or not. yeah, you lose the origin once he kicks it (and boy will he kick it), but he still has full access to his dial's printed powers "from beyond the grave" oooh, ooooh!
this way the great power/great responsibility gets to carry on when he can't as a remix of the promoter mechanic. just a slight derivation from the chase theme in a way that made more sense for ben as the last of the chases.
but his big draw and what will draw fire on him is the origin of spider-man. you probably won't get to have much say in whether you want to keep him going or not 'cause your opponent will rather quickly realize what a pain that is and will beeline to ensure uncle ben, as always, is the first to go. but if you've got any "born to die" effects in your tacklebox, yeah, bring uncle ben along and make the most of it

웃: █, █ Signature Move: We're Going On A Little Trip Together!: POWER: If Spider-Man has 1 action token, Charge at no cost and he may carry his target as if they were friendly. Modify attack +X where X is the number of sides of the square Spider-Man occupies that are Ropes. Showmanship?? He Hasn't Seen Anything Yet!: Slingshot. // Slam. After resolutions, place Spider-Man in a square adjacent to the target. With Great Power There Must Also Come-- Great Responsibility!: If a friendly character has been KO'd, STOP. Defend, Willpower. I'll Try For That Hundred Dollar, Crusher! See My Agent, Boys! I'm Busy!
My Fault-- All My Fault! I'm Thru Being Pushed Around --By Anyone! If Only I Had Stopped Him When I Could Have! But I Didn't-- And Now-- Uncle Ben-- Is Dead…
Sorry, Pal! That's Your Job!
From Now On I Just Look Out For Number One --That Means-- Me!
I think tying Josie into the deeper Daredevil lore is a great idea ( poor Josie, she must have some kind of discount on furniture replacement ).
....also that is a perfect comic.
I knew you couldn't go through this set and not do Hogan!
Signature Move: Bonesaw: What a nifty signature, and I like the reverse blue clicks. Click three is going to be the one to watch that's for sure.
Hey Freakshow! You're Going Nowhere. I Got You For Three Minutes. Three Minutes Of Playtime!: and these clicks are going to make sure that Hogan gets a chance to use Bonesaw.
Thanks for this one, I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Hogan.
"I may not see the road I ride for the witch-fire lamps that gleam;"But phantoms glide at my bridle-side, and I follow a nameless Dream." R.E. Howard
While I love the Spider-Man books, I don't find myself ever fielding Peter himself.
This Pete I would play happily and look for excuse to work him into teams.
Signature Move: We're Going On A Little Trip Together!: hehehe, okay that's fun.
Showmanship?? He Hasn't Seen Anything Yet!: This makes the dial even more fun and hmm, for lack of a better word "Cinematic".
With Great Power There Must Also Come-- Great Responsibility!:......is it bad that the first thing I thought on seeing this is the wealth of low point extremely "Squishy" Spider-Man Family figures?
"Oh Uncle Ben, could you duck down this dangerous looking alley for me?"

crusher hogan was another early include. such a underused gem from the lore that's so steep in wrestling he's 3-day marinated in the main theme
this little dial is a portmanteau of his cinematic rendition for cheeks and grins and the pretty awesome short story by brian azarello that really opened up his tale into quite a tragic one. and with a knowing nod to amazing spiderman 271 where we discover he's grown into a huge spidey fan and even teamed up with him (spidey fam kw) to take down the shakedown from manslaughter marsdale.
focusing on his shoot wrestling, he's modest but punches rough. he rocks because he's good at his job and knows how to wrestle well. he's gonna make you taste it. the signature move and sp are all movie, but the dial is azarello's right down to the down on his luck trifecta of support at the end.
speaking of the end, yeah 3 stop clicks for a cheap (albeit soft) dial is a lot for the cost, but it's also all on blue click numbers, which means any pin attempt will chew right through them. so, especially in this set, it's coming at a discount but will make his 3 clicks minutes of playtime more potent against "armatures" and non-wrestlers in keeping with the lore.
the signature move is a riff on his portrayal by macho man randy savage whose signature move also has a big bonus on his elbow drop, i just used a slightly different (and likely more restrained) mechanic for the bonus. tying it into the click numbers that are reverse flow to better play into the time limit match that defined his character back in '63
seriously, if you haven't read it, azarello's story in spiderman's tangled web #14 is totally worth the read. made me a crusher fan.
While I love the Spider-Man books, I don't find myself ever fielding Peter himself.
This Pete I would play happily and look for excuse to work him into teams.

ah, yes, the old mera pog +jl52 aquaman tactic. i know it all too well
but here you're playing out the story and playing the dial as intended. this is jerk pete. before he learned his lesson (he doesn't even have the reporter kw yet) and was all about that swollen head of his, he couldn't be bothered to look out for anyone but #1 and this dial is trying to shake off responsibility and attacks by sandbagging allies with all that sc. combined with ss your opponent might not even bother. but then again with the way this dial can fly all over the map and chuck opponents, too, he won't be ignorable.
the signature move is my best attempt to capture what the added pic depicts. scaring the tar out of crusher by carrying him up the excessive tall turnbuckle poles they had for some reason and dangling him over the doom. i looked to asm scarlet spider's ledge dangle for inspiration but decided to simply go for the attack bonus based on being in the corner to setup the feel of it and make it so terrifying. the charge/carry bit was a last minute remix to make it work more and it really adds to the placement control that his has. snag and run them in the corner for the hit, slingshot them out, too with some nice kb, and yeah, this is wp-less pete (for obvious reasons), so he'll pay for it with a push but lookee there. now he's on flying leap, sitting pretty on the top turnbuckle to fly into the fight after a rest.
the sp, though, is the real bread and butter for me. with a couple simple combinations, he can hit, place an opponent in the adjacent square of his choice, kb in the direction of his choice and then place himself adjacent to them after all that. pete is gonna be all over the map and a shrewd player will be able to position him where he'll do his best work (like running that poor schlub up the pole next turn) or be out of reach of opposing retaliation (well, not that retaliation, but you know what i mean).
all that on a terrible costume (with a surprising similarity to daredevil's year one costume...) but with a super dynamic pose, and yes that slice of the ring ropes are going on the sculpt to make it SR worthy

#ucwfl085 Unique Longshot
Keywords: Excalibur, Exiles, Mojoverse, X-Factor, X-Men, Celebrity, Martial Artist Gotcha!: Running Shot. Longshot's attack rolls of doubles are critical hits (including double 1s). Whenever his attack roll is rerolled, only re-roll 1 die. Friendly characters are not given an action token when targeting Longshot with Themed Team Probability Control. The Lucky One:At the beginning of your turn, roll 1d6. Until the start of your next turn, Longshot can use the following powers equal to the result. 1-6: Super Senses. 3-6: Shape Change. 5-6: Energy Shield/Deflection.

When "The Burglar" makes an attack, opposing characters cannot use Defend, Energy Shield/Deflection, Mastermind or Shape Change. If the target has a lower point value, modify attack +2.
I approve of giving Ben-Slayer keywords so he'll actually fit onto some teams.
Ambush The Innocent: Burgy should have the epithet "Pog Killer" because NOTHING is going to save a lower point figure in his sights.
....Well I guess you could keep your Ben/Pog contained in a Barrier box, but besides that Burgy is dealing that one damage darn it!
