Man, I hate you. I clicked on the link and started listening and then realized it is 90+ minutes. Got sucked in within 5 minutes.

Yes, glad I could be of help. I also found one of their songs called "Yaad", that's a ten minute Indian folk metal/rap/ discussion about missing your dog after it dies. It is pretty cool. But I didn't link it, so as to not inspire more hate

Yeah, this band is growing on me more and more. Their set at Waken at the end of the documentary was insane.

What do you know about the grandmother of rock and roll?
Up Above My Head by Rhiannon Giddens was nominated in the latest ROCK WARS and it lead me to the original by Sister Rosetta Tharpe, which blew my mind. I absolutely love when she's jamming her solo and says "let's do that again!" In my humble opinion, she should of been the first inductee into the Rock and Roll HOF. What a musical game changer.

King's X is one of those bands that I can't figure out why they didn't get more popular. I've talked to a few people in the industry, and they say it's because their record label was never really behind them, and didn't give them the push that they should have gotten.
So, on the one hand, it's upsetting to find out just how much control the record labels had (back then) over what you heard and saw, and how much control they had over who was going to be a star and who wasn't. Then it was upsetting that they didn't do that for King's X.
