Theoretically speaking, if one had possession of a factory set of DC75, should one try to sell it whole or break it up and sell it piecemeal?
Theoretically speaking of course.

I'll make you a deal, Muncho. I'll PM you my shipping information and Paypal you some shipping and handling dollars, and I'll take that illicit factory set off your hands before anyone finds out about what you did to get it.
It'll probably take some math-e-matics to figure out whether selling it whole or in bits is more lucrative. And you know I won't touch numbers with a ten foot clown-pole, so do 'em yourself.

Point taken.
Usually, if a set came my way I would find a way to give it away via a charity event or some such. Since I'm not running such an event this year I thought I'd consider auctioning it off and donating the proceeds.

lets say you can sell the factory set for $500
then lets break down the figs
say $50 for the c/u/r set
SRs probably can be easily sold at about $15(low end most of them going between 15 and 20) multiply that by 12 = 180
WL 2 at $50(hal + superman) 3 at 40(wonder women, Flash and Green) Arrow) 1 at 30(Donna) 2 at 25(bart, superboy) 2 at 20(animal man and ice) = 340
LEs and BIBTB fig(if included) = easy $100
total = 670(a bit low due to under pricing some SRs)
So bottom line probably about an extra $200 for breaking it up if every thing sells at top dollar.
Of course this is all Theoretical based on current prices on a highly used auction site.

I dunno... Barry Allens? Do you need LEs from recent sets or commons/uncommons/rares from DC75? You could try my trade thread, but it may be largely wrong now since I never update it.
My H/W list is always up to date, and includes a bunch of nons from older sets that I am still looking for.

Your time is already limited. Breaking it up and dealing with shipping it different pieces takes TIME. Remember, I sold my entire collection once. Time is money, too. It's why I take my car somewhere to get the oil changed, rather than doing it myself.
Also, I urge everyone to go to this thread and weigh in on 2010 reflections.
But is the extra effort worth the returns? I feel like selling the set is the way to go. I am lazy though!

I would probably go the complete set route as well. Theoretically, I would be more apt to buy the set as a whole.
