Personally I think it's a slap in the face to longtime fans to call a set "DC Comics 75th Anniversary" and fill it with flash-in-the-pan characters from a poorly-conceived, amateurishly-executed media blitz consisting of 32-page fight scenes.
So far, the only real entries in this set that in any way point to DC's 75 years of history are yet more representations of the Big Three, and a single bone thrown to the longtime fans in the form of Crimson Avenger.
When crisis first came out, Sinestro was only 25-30 bucks. It's only been recently that the price has been driven up on the secondary market, as more yellow lanterns were made and the general stock of lantern ephemera has risen.
I bought mine shortly after the set hit, because I didn't pull him and he was one of my top wants from the set. He cost me $25 (can't remember if that was before or after shipping). I can't speak on "recent" prices.

John Stewart GL? Sgt. Rock? Zan and Jana? And Guy could either be a GL or a Red L.
Yeah, I get that the set seems more weighted to recent events, but that could well be because those are the pieces they have decided to showcase. And it makes sense - if I were marketing the set, I'd want to focus on the current storyline tie-ins and the marquee characters first.
I'm still hopeful.

I wish I could be too, but that would be a tremendous triumph of hope over experience.
What color ring is "Experience" again?

You are correct, I am forgetting my own terminology.
I refer to the "bronze (ick) age" as the "Super Age" - it was an era (as you probably know) where Superheroes where EVERYWHERE (both Marvel and DC) tie it into the 70's where the term "super" which gained prominence in popular culture.
So to sum up:
Golden Age 1938 - 1963
Silver Age 1964 - 1972
Super Age 1973 - 1986
Dark Age 1986 - 1992
Modern Age 1993 - Now
Well yeah, but he's also a Silver Age character that needed a remake, badly. He's also my second-favorite GL, next to Hal.

Wait, are we talking character selection, or sculpts? Because his sculpt is boring, but the rest of the ones we've seen kinda rock. I didn't understand sculpts to be your main issue with the set. If we're talking sculpts, the ones I have the most issue with are Superman and Bane. Does Superman carry that big eagle with him all the time in the Golden Age? And how long DID Bane carry Batman's broken body? Yeah, they're dynamic...they don't look like they're prepared to fight someone though.

Sure. Superfriends doesn't represent a piece of DC Comics' 75 year history? I'm ecstatic to get them. In fact, I'd love to get some of the other Superfriends-specific characters.

Nope. Actually I think he'd be a great option for a repaint, one Red version and one Green. But I think your pay is safe - they probably went Red with him.

The Silver Age starts with Barry Allen and its end is a bit more dubious, but is generally taken to end with the death of Gwen Stacy or the introduction of the new X-Men.
This puts the Bronze Age as starting around 1973 or 1975.
The Iron Age starts with the Watchmen or the Dark Knight Returns - so 1986.
After this, the start of the "Modern" Age is a bit more dubious - I've seen people peg it as Kingdom Come (1996) or with Green Lantern: Rebirth (2004-2005). Others claim we're still in the Iron Age, but I call poppycock on that - the grimdark aesthetic is there, but it's also blended in with the whimsy of the Silver Age without the mindless stupidity of the Silver Age.
And while we're at it, if we're going to grump about how the ages are named, we might as well kvetch about kryptonite, too. As it stands, that's also named in a less than correct fashion. But who cares? That's what it is and what it always will be. The same with the various Age naming conventions.
In either case, a 75th Anniversary Set should take strongly representative characters of the various ages to fill out the set, along with the truly iconic DC characters. Folk like Barry Allen, Bane, members of the JSA, and then the Trinity. A subtheme isn't a bad idea, either, but the White Lantern/Lantern mythos subtheme is waaaay too much so far.

I just think we're going to have to agree to disagree here. John Stewart may have been introduced in the Silver Age, but he made a total of three appearances prior to Hal's quitting the Corps (which was just before the Crisis). And I acknowledge the Superfriends' place in DC history, and how they brought people to the comics; but with all the important characters from the comics who have never been made as HeroClix at all (Golden-Age Atom, Golden-Age Hourman, Golden-Age Dr. Mid-Nite, Ocean Master, Killer Moth, Silver-Age Atom, to name but six), I'm a bit cheesed to be getting "Form of a snowball!" first.
Also forgot about Doomsday (representing the Death of Superman storyline...I still hope we get characters Eradicator and Superboy (in the jacket) to represent the Reign of the Supermen), and Bane to represent the Knightfall storyline. Those are pretty representative storylines. I guess they should also pull something in from Crisis (maybe CSA and/or Freedom Fighters members? ). They've already got Blackest Night and Brightest Day covered. Ragdoll and maybe Deadshot should be in there to represent Villains United (and I'd love that to be an excuse for a new Battlesuit Lex and/or Weather Wizard). There should be someone included to represent 52 as well (Isis? I would love to get the last member of the Black Marvel family...new Intergang members maybe?).
I'd like to see more Golden Age and Silver Age stuff of course, but I kinda like the way they seem to be picking and choosing what they include. Yeah, too many White Lanterns by about half, but other than that it's looking like the character selection is pretty solid.

Well yeah, the list of DC characters I want is pretty large, and that's true even if I just restrict myself to unmade characters (but I really want a better Cyborg, Beast Boy, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy...and a James Jesse Trickster who's not handcuffed to anyone...and heck, may as well throw Gizmo and Power Girl back in there after their miserable BatB showing... :P).
But I kinda like the Wonder Twins' inclusion. They are characters that most thought would NEVER be made, and they only take one slot (as opposed to, say, the 10 slots the White Lanterns are taking up).
Yeah, we can agree to disagree though.

Silver Age Atom never made? Both the Experienced and Veteran Origin Atom represent Ray Palmer. Then there's Cosmic Justice. This is neglecting to include the Blackest Night version, which seems fair to rule out.
Or is there some other Silver Age Atom I'm unaware of? Or is this some silly complaint about how he hasn't been made in his Silver Age costume yet? In which case, no, the character still has been made - and, in fact, you don't get much more of a universal version than one without a sculpt.
Besides which, much as it pains me to admit it, none of the characters you mentioned other than the Silver Age Atom (assuming you mean Ray Palmer) is any more important than the Wonder Twins. Pepin the Short isn't more important than Charlemagne, despite the fact that Pepin's his dad. "Coming first" is not an indicator of importance. I'm not a fan of the Wonder Twins, but I don't begrudge people getting new characters. Every character is somebody's favorite and your tastes (or mine, for that matter) aren't any more important than people who are fans of the Wonder Twins. The characters haven't been made yet, in any shape or form. That's where the argument should generally end and start.
