Oh, what? What is scary about werewolves other than that they're angry dogs? You know how scary a movie about dogs is? Not very. What are werewolves? Angry dogs, but only sometimes, and in a very predictable pattern. Explain to me please how werewolves are scary.

I buy my dad those DVDs every year for his birthday. Turns out he likes sitcoms.

Mummies have magic powers! You can't fight a mummy. Ever. The only way to defeat a mummy is to not get cursed by it in the first place. Werewolves are weak against silver and it not being three nights a month, which are two very substantial weaknesses. The closest thing to a weakness a mummy has is fire, but then you let your guard down and the mummy is right behind you because he's magic, even though you thought you killed him with fire. That's pretty scary.

Actually, I like mummies. If WizKids would give me clix versions of the Universal monsters and the Marvel monsters in my sig, I'd willingly track down and eliminate every single member of the Taliban and Al Queda.

We're leaving Friday morning and going to be attending the wedding reception that night. We will likely be coming home mid-day Saturday so I don't think it's possible. Plus we will have other members of the family traveling with us.
Yesterday I had an interesting conversation with my venue owner. He's quite upset with NECA right now. He's been in the business for 20 years and so he probably has a decent sense of how things work. Currently, he's sitting on way too much Superman that he can't move while selling bricks at $100. He's upset with NECA for, in his words, creating an artificial shortage after DC 75th and GSX. Then NECA made retailers order CA and SM early. Obviously retailers were going to up their orders because DC75th and GSX sold out. Well, the whole "sell out" was a farce and now retailers are sitting on extra product.
Now I think he's got nobody to blame but himself for ordering too much product, but I also think NECA did create a little bit of a false sense of demand. I also think the secondary market is over saturated, thus figures aren't worth anything. You use to pull a Chase and get excited because even if you didn't want it, it would be worth something. Now we get Chases like Rojhaz that go for about as much as a good SR. I know going forward I'm not going to buy as much because I know the secondary market will be extremely buyer-friendly.
Going back to my venue owner, he feels that he's been burned by NECA. So with Hulk and future sets, he's going to take all the pre-orders from the regulars, then order an additional 10% on top of that. He won't risk getting stuck with a pile of product ever again. What I'd like to know is if other venues are having the same problem of "too much product." Does this mean that distributors will be sitting on Hulk and Galactic Guardians because retailers were lead to believe in a false sense of demand thus cutting back future orders? My venue owner said he's seen this happen many times with different companies, and every time it kills the game eventually. I know people like to poke fun at people complaining on here with the whole "this will kill heroclix" thing, but is there any legitimacy to this, this time around?
I don't know about 'burned', but I feel very much similar to this. I also have been more or less hinting at the deluge of product since GSX and seeing first hand the effect it is having on sales of singles at my venue. Yet...I have to keep ordering similar amounts if we want to get in on the Infinity Gauntlet. I have even been trying to get Ogre's to buy cases from me...lol.
