At least go check out Daniel's "Meltdown" from the beginning of the first episode (and then wish I could help you with an HBO Go account; unfortunately, even though I've got HBO and I get cable from a company that's supposed to supply HBO Go, they haven't made it available in my area yet which is garbage. So my DVR is filling with episodes of "The Newsroom" I refuse to let be erased even after viewing.)
Amen to that. I order HBO for 5 months so I can watch Game of Thrones and True Blood. The Newsroom was gravy, but it's dang good. If you have strong conservative leanings, you'd probably find it offensive, but it's very well done. Daniel's meltdown is epic and righteous.
Animal Practice sounds dumb. The only new show I'm excited for is the American nuclear sub that is blackballed or some such thing and nuclear winter is a threat. It's on ABC and has Andre Braugher and Daisy Betts. And if anyone on here actually watched Persons Unknown on NBC several summers ago and liked it, I salute you. They had a decent show and tanked it.
I would consider getting HBO if HBOgo was compatible with Comcast on XBL, but for some stupid reason it isn't.
I have no designs of watching a TV show or movie on my computer, I'm too old. I'll check it out though.
With the right equipment(video card and correct cables), you can connect a computer to your TV. Once I set aside the money, I'm buying the stuff, drilling holes in the wall for cables, and doing it. My brother does it to play WoW on a 42 inch TV.

I'm technically in the same boat as the show's lead - officially a Republican (yeah, I know) but pretty socially liberal and have a lot of the same concerns he does. So I can roll with it pretty well...guess I'm more moderate than people realize (even if I don't find it the most balanced of Sorkin's shows as opposed to, say, when the West Wing would show both sides have good ideas and both sides are screwed up and if folks would just stop politicking so much, we could do so much for this country).
"Nobody important? That's amazing. You know, in 900 years of traveling time and space I've never met someone who wasn't important."

I will admit that I was surprised at how much of a fan you are from the minor little political comments you've made (you're abnormally reticent when it comes that!). But I can totally see you in the MacAvoy range
"Why would the possibility of me being wrong ever stop me from doing something?"

I'm an optimist in people which skews my politics, I think. (Also why I'm reticent about discussing too much - it doesn't matter to me what side you're on so long as you just are trying to improve our world).
