I went to 7-11 for a snack, and standing in line was this girl that I know. She had a Rockstar drink in one hand, and a box of fem hygiene pads in the other. When she saw me, she waved at me with the box of pads, realized what she did, and then became very embarrassed and overly apologizing. Quite funny.

I bought a couple of digital TV antennas from a website I buy from A LOT. They shipped them slower than usual but I eventually got them. Two weeks later, they send me an email telling me they are sorry for not sending my stuff. They issued a credit and gave me a discount code for my next purchase.

I got my 20 bucks back and free digital TV antennas. I wouldn't usually do this but a couple shirts I got from them in the past were damaged and I didn't do anything about it (things tend to work themselves out).

So it would seem to be over and done with but I got an email tonight from them telling me they have the antennas back in stock and are sending me the two they never sent... for free.

Guess I'm going to start shopping for TVs. Just kidding but we have antenna backups for when the cable goes out now.

You shouldn't have said anything and sent them as the Secret Santa gift (if we're doing that this year).

We got married and lived in an apartment where we had cable.
We bought a house in the middle of nowhere. At the time our only option was a dish, but there was work to be done around the house, so we opted to hold off on spending the money on that when we'd have plenty of other stuff to keep us occupied.
In the meantime while unpacking the wife's old TV/VCR combo for the spare bedroom I noticed it had a single prong antanna, so I hooked that up and found that it got a few channels, but not with spectacular reception.
Flash forward a couple of years. It was the night of one of the McCain/Obama debates. The wife said she was missing TV as she would have otherwise liked to have been watching the debate. I went and got that antenna and hooked it up to the big TV. After a few minutes of me receiving a why-have-we-not-been-using-this-until-now stare we found that we were able to comfortably watch the debate.
I went to Walmart shortly after that and purchased a moderately priced powered antenna for, like, $20. That vastly improved the reception.
Eventually I upgraded to a $50 antenna and moved the other one to a different TV. The reception may have improved some, but the real bonus was in the number of channels we were able to pick up.

We can also get 4.1, 13.1-13.4, 16.1-16.3, and 22.1, too, but I have to adjust the antenna to get those. We tend to just leave things as they are.

The bottom line is that I get 20 channels for $0 per month, or $0 per year, if you want to look at that over that length of time.

I could get a basic cable package for about $1,000 per year, but there's nothing on there worth that kind of money.
