Excuse me, if you notice I was RESPONDING to a political jab, not inciting one.
That's true, Wyld. Scroll up and you'll see, someone else initiated the political commentary here. Blame the bird that dropped the turd, not the hat that got the splat.
I'm giving the thread to Tom, for correctly getting Quicksilver. I realize now the rest of the question was too difficult; you'd have to be a diehard Golden-Age fan like me, someone who, back in the 80s (before the back issue market exploded) snapped up every Golden-Age reprint he could find.
Quicksilver's costumed foe was the Wasp. As far as I know, that's the only Golden-Age Quicksilver story ever to be reprinted (in Flash Vol. 1 #214). The Wasp can also be seen in the background in Quicksilver's original Who's Who entry (kind of looks like Mr. Weatherbee with bumblebee wings).

Thanks.
I know in some circles free speech is only a right for those with whom you agree.
I'll certainly give Wyld the benefit of the doubt and agree with you that he simply didn't "scroll up" far enough.
It would be sad to find one more person who will "blame the hat" because he agrees with "the bird!"

How about Quicksilver and Magneto?
Another blind stab at a Golden Age character I never read!!!

In Wyld's defense, I don't think he was picking out just one person in his comment. I think he meant for his comment for all of us in that particular conversation. He just picked the last post he saw about it to use as a quote.

Wyld and I have been in communication and we're cool.
It could serve us all well if comments were more appropriate and avoided political, sexual and religious jabs.
I think that actually may be in the rules of the site.

See, there's another phrase I wish I could use daily, along with "giant mutated Dalmatians."

When our story opens, the Question is investigating an impossible locked-room murder mystery involving a midget and a 6'6"-tall call girl into heavy bondage. Don't worry, I'll explain later. It's all vitally relevant.

Wow, there was a guy at one of the WW CONs I volunteered at who used several Lockjaws on his team. Each was painted differently and one was "a giant mutated Dalmatian!"
No joke!
It was cool but he didn't do all that well as I recall.

It is in in the rules of the site, that's why there is a sub-board specifically for politics.
Stop being such a party pooper.
Besides, we've often stepped into the gray areas of the rules on this and other threads. Now it's all of a sudden becoming a Politically Correct thread?

I think most (but not all) people are interested in "civility" and reasonably good taste, not "political correctness."
Much of the internet is not unlike a stall in a "Boys Room" with all manner of immature and offensive graffiti splattered on it.
Most (but not all) people, and certainly the folks who moderate this site, prefer a slightly higher standard.

Here's an easy Silver Age question -
Lightning Lad lost an arm and later "died" - only to have an imposter stage a "return"
Who was that imposter?
