DC once had a creator re-design some characters, so he could get royalties for characters created before royalty agreements. Name the creator and series in which the redesigns were done.

(I only know one character that was re-done for sure.)

No, the creator was the original creator of the character(s) in question. And I should be clear, the redesign is just visual, as far as I know.

I'll take a wild guess that is probably far wrong and say Dave Cockrum in Legion of Super-Heroes.

Correct! Mantis (at least) was given a complete makeover by Jack-- and this was asked of him so that they could justify giving him toy royalties. I though that was a pretty cool thing to do (though DC screwed him pretty badly back in the day).
