Disappointment at all the disappointing Green Lantern reviews.
There hasn't been a "trash" A-list superhero movie in a long time. Maybe the Fantastic Four and Ghost Rider movies (but come on, Ghost Rider is B-list on a good day). Or Wolverine. No surprise that the Ryan Reynolds-helmed Green Lantern is terrible. No surprise, but still disappointed.

I wasn't particularly impressed by "Iron Man 2" (which flipflops things - good origin film and lousy sequel; normally it's "origin film you have to endure" followed by a good sequel...see Spidey 2, X-2, Superman II (though I love Superman I as well), The Dark Knight (same deal as Superman), X-Men: First Class (I consider it a sequel as revealing a "secret hidden team" is more of a sequel deal than an 'exposition origin'), etc.)
I fully expected GL to be bogged down in origin exposition but it sounds like Ryan Reynolds didn't even pull off the "Tom Cruise as Maverick = Hal Jordan" aspect and went "angsty".
"Nobody important? That's amazing. You know, in 900 years of traveling time and space I've never met someone who wasn't important."

Yeah, we can only hope. Ryan Reynolds in like Ashton Kutcher for me. They're good at a couple types of roles, but that's it. Decent niche actor, no range.
My hope now is that the movie will be like Priest. They totally underused Karl Urban and Paul Bettany and it was very disjointed with some cool action scenes. But at the end, they set it up for sequels and you start to wonder if this was just the teaser movie. That I paid $7 to see.
I just wish someone had been able to legit knock that one dude off the top before all the shenanigans happened.

While I'm normally against blatant imitation, if DC up and said, "Yeah, know that Marvel Movie universe? Well, we're doing that. And we have Superman and Batman. WORD."
