Saw Hugo recently. Well...saw some of it. Got through about an hour of the movie, before we turned it off. It was soooooooooo boring. I honestly don't know why it received such critical acclaim.

I finally got around to watching the copy of Battle Royale that's been on my computer for like two years. I liked it and thought bits of it were great, and the two other people I saw it with seemed to dislike it until the end, which I guess changed their minds.

I just watched Paul. Overall I enjoyed it a lot. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost were awesome and their script took some pretty funny shots at religion.
I actually liked Paul, which surprised me. The previews had me thinking I was going to hate it. But I realized the previews catered to the lowest common denominator and the movie itself had a much better sense of humor.
Paul was cool, it had all the right nerdy refrences for a sci fi based comedy for me and it didn't overdo the comedy as the previews were making me think it would. Was balanced just right...
The Razzie's don't go out until April Fools Day. Only the nominations have been done so far. In that regard Jack & Jill got TEN nominations, which is especially bad when you consider that there are only ten categories.
True Grit
I had missed the opportunity to see this in the theatre so I bought the dvd once the price had gone down.
Not bad, but the ending was somewhat unsatisfying.
The characters went a little too far into the territory of parody for my taste and the plot is not exactly inspired.
Still entertaining enough and a great performance by Hailee Steinfeld.
And it's interesting to know what the Dude's great-great-grandfather was up to.
Took the family to see The Lorax yesterday. It was enjoyable, but it basically had it's biggest laugh-out-loud moments in the commercials. I was surprised by how many musical numbers they put into it, but on reflection, it was probably the best way to get Seuss-like dialogue into the script without being weird.
