Tickets bought for Guardians tonight. Waited a bit long, so we can't all sit together and it's kind of crappy seats, but oh well. Still get to see it on opening night.
I'm gonna try to see it tonight as well, but if not then tomorrow night for sure.

I've been waiting so long for this movie to come out. I have to wait until Tuesday night to see it.
So very very pleased to read what I am reading about it, especially here on HCR. So much risk involved with trying to do a Marvel Space movie, and I think they nailed it (again).

I did have one minor quibble with GOTG. And it wasn't a big deal, but...
Spoiler (Click in box to read)
Apparently Lee Pace (the actor that plays Ronan as well as Thranduil in the Hobbit movies) uses the exact same voice for both, and it was a touch distracting. LEGOLAS, NOW WE BURN XANDAR!!! Ahem.
Not a huge thing, as I said, but it was a little weird.
The movie itself was amazing. It wasn't the BEST EVAR Marvel movie, but it's definitely right up there. Also, Meryl Yondu was great.

I didn't know Michael Rooker was in the movie until you mentioned this. I feel sorry for Rooker. He's one of those guys that is perma-casted for being the rapey bad guy in everything he's in.

Except for Mallrats. In that movie, Michael Rooker was just a father concerned for his daughter's well-being and for his cable-access TV game show. Plus, he did enjoy his chocolate-covered pretzels.

Without spoiling too much... he's kindof a mix of both in this. Honestly, he really did a great job with it. I didn't realize he was Yondu until I heard his voice. Then it was, "MERYL!"

You mean that Yondu ate some chocolate-covered pretzels in Guardians but you couldn't tell that he was Michael Rooker due to the make-up? Makes sense. Actually, I didn't realize that Rooker was in the movie until I went to Philly this past June and he came onstage during the Karen Gillan panel. I bet that Amy Pond is hard to recognize also, seeing as how she's bald and blue as Nebula in the movie.

Hey Charles. As the only other person I know who has read Afterlife with Archie, I have to ask. Is it just me, or is there an incest thing going on between Jason and Cheryl Blossom?

Oh, it's pretty easy to recognize her. But unlike, say, you, I don't dismiss her that easily.
Also, seeing her play someone evil was a blast.

Well, spoilers, but.... see white text below.
Yes. There absolutely is. Also, Nancy and Ginger are having a secret lesbian relationship behind Chuck's back. Who'da thunk it????

Dismiss her???? Amy Pond??? Wha'choo talkin' 'bout, Willis??? I asked Karen Gillan's mom for Karen's hand in marriage right there in front of everyone - AND Karen did not say "no"!!! This is a true story. I have witnesses.

I hope that she's really, really evil - not some kitty lol cat-loving ballerina. Really undermines being evil, loving ickle liddle fluffy kitties.

Enough of a blast that you're going to watch Selfie?
...
...no. I don't think even Karen Gillan and John Cho can get me to watch Selfie.
Your wife is forcing you to watch Selfie, isn't she? Just admit it.
