The fact that they issue, in PDF format, errata and clarifications approx every three months, and issue errata to rebalance/fix problems in the meta, means that FFG "gets it" and cares about the player community (and isn't just there only to sell us more product).
I heard there's a Ghost/autoblaster build that's unbalanced now....any truth to that?
An exchange like this is almost enough to draw me back to clix.
Getting a new Spider-Man oriented set was what drew me back, but I've only made it to the venue to play once since then, because my work schedule is now stupid.
I do think WK has learned from some of their mistakes.
Others, they continue to happily make.

I have not run across it if it exists or see any evidence of it on the FFG X-Wing forum. Triple U boats has about been killed off with the latest FAQ as well. Seems like the game is in a pretty good spot, especially after Wave X drops.
there's a "broken" build called "Dengaroo" which is pretty mean.
But it can be managed - you have to ignore Dengar and head at and destroy Manaroo.
There's a few other combos which are nasty.
I haven't run across the Ghost build and would like more detail.
Contrast FFG/X-Wing and WK/Attack-Wing.
FFG tries to rebalance the meta and it's obvious they extensively playtest the components prior to release. To the extent that there are threads on those websites which allege that some players who do the playtesting have a leg up because they know the game elements better. Which is partially true, but also false in that they are play testing the beta of the game elements, and if they get used to something and it's changed in final production, then perhaps they are going to misplay it in real games.
WK - just like in Heroclix - it's obvious that WE are the playtesters and that we are the ones to find broken combos, misprints, badly worded abilities, etc.

Out of curiosity, how many pieces are included in any given expansion of X-Wing?

I feel like it varies because some ships are bigger and there are special theme sets (Aces, Veterans, Scum etc.). I want to say it averages around 4-6 ships per expansion.
Catering to the lowest common denominator since Feb 2003.

Here is a LINK to Wave 9 and what came in each package.
So there is a little variation with each ship, but everything is here for all of the ships, most info is carefully hidden by marketing to not give everything away as well.

Thanks.
So, to play devil's advocate here...
FFG is releasing 4-6 ships in an expansion versus 60-70 characters in a WK expansion.
I must first ask why it would seem surprising that there's a difference in playtesting which such a difference in quantity.
Based on the prior statement of there still being errata and such for X-Wing, I'm curious, if you were to take the number of errata entries for X-Wing and multiply that by ten, how would that stack up with WK's results?

Of note is that when Fantasy Flight changes the text on a card, it is corrected in any future prints of that card, supposedly. I have never personally bought or seen one that was FAQ'd.
