No, I'm not going to use this. I'd play it once, but since I have to play the same team 4 times, I wont do that. You all would be easily able to crush this team, knowing it was coming.

And Shazzy was in the JLI, along with Guy, Dr. Fate and the Black Canary. While the database says a "neophyte Captain Marvel" was in the group, its the Exp that has the keyword. Go figure...

I was trolling eBay and found an auction for both the indoor and outdoor adventure packs. All the original 3D objects. It's still less than $1 and has about 4 days to go. If anyone is interested PM me and I'll send you the auction. Pretty sure you're not supposed to post links to auctions.

We still dont seem to have an idea of who all is coming next week, and the amount of power being used.

I dont thinks its fair to "ban" skrull MM if Firelord, LAMP, e-2 supes, and other stuff is allowed. She is not as bad as those other items. She doesnt deserve to be singled out.

Given that we can only play one team, if no one posts {comes clean} I will have to assume that you are bringing cheese.

I'd field E-2 Superman, KC Superman, that super-rare Invisible woman, KC Green Lantern, DC Ares, Lamppost Batman, Sinestro Batman, World's Finest, Superman Prime, Superman Robot, and whatever expensive cheddar piece I could fit in there...

But alas, I have none of those figures.

I do have a clue for you, though I doubt you'd ever dream of such a team being played, and that's that my team will blow your frickin' mind with it's pure comic awesomeness!

I have the supes, including the robot, bats, world suckiest, etc. Even the zombies. If you want to make a team with one, just pm me and ill bring it for you to use.

Have you been reading the same posts that I have? There has been very little discussion about the level being played. Squire and myself have been trying to start a dialouge but get nothing in return. The closest is wintermute saying he doesn't own the chase figures. And there are plenty of non chase figures that can be broken.

Here inlies the inherent problem. Everyone has a different definition of power, cheese, tier 1, tier 2, fun, etc. We've never been on the same page about this here in Vegas. And the lack of dialouge has not helped this.

Are you sure about this? No one has posted their team, or even close to what they are building. Most have been very cryptic, which in my experience, means playing to win. The only thing you have discouraged playing is Skrull Marvel. Which means Prime, Chariot, Chase Supermen, etc. are all in the environment. I have to build my team accordingly.


So here is a little exercise. You listed all of the attendees. I'm going to list what I believe they are going to bring. Based on their posts, play history, and my experience with that person. Take it how you will and prove me wrong if you feel you need to.


Roland
-Good old SEC Power. Something that can compete with the power figures in the environment. And I won't have fun going 0-4 and getting my teeth kicked in with a comic team.

Tim
-Solid figures with solid mechanics. Won't try to break anything, but will be powerful. Knows he has to keep up with the Jones' (Eric & Mike).

Eric
-Straight Power. He always has, always will. He doesn't change.

Mike
-A verison of the Bikini Stallion. Over/Under on # of Protecteds he plays is 2.5.

And keep in mind, as much as they respect me, I won't be able to change Eric or Mike's mind.

Dustin (Bluesummers)
-Somekind of White Power/Feat combo trick pony. Something like Herc/Lunge/Rip it Up. Think Mach-a-Tron from back in the day.

Tyler
-Something straight solid. Maybe not the most effecient figures because he does have affinity to certain characters, but it will have every mechanic and power on a tournament worthy team with little weaknesses.

Charles (Wintremute)
-Honesty it's been too long since I've been at a tourney with you. I do know you have experience with higher point figs because of the home games you play. I know you don't screw around and do like to win. Something along the lines of Tyler.

Charles (Squirecam)
-He is going to bring it. He knows what is in the environment and what he potentially (is expecting) to see. He won't have fun going 0-4 either.

Justin
-He wants to play comic, most likely Thunderbolts. But the Gamer in you will win out and you'll bring something to win. You're skilled at all arctypes, but it will be tier 1 worthy.

Me (Unsung Hero)
-Something to prove you can take down Prime and the other "cheese" figs without playing them yourself. Something you feel is overlooked and a power mechanic even though others don't.

Right. I'm finding it hard to judge when the "middle" ground is so big, and we have never agreed on it in the past.

Lucky has it right, in that a build that has to account for bat-allies, chase supes, wild carded abuse teams, nova blasters, JSA Spectre, and LAMP means you really have to have a likewise powerful team, or your going 0-4.

So the team power ramps up...

Please add my friend to the list of attendees. One of the reasons I will be going to the tournament is because it's his birthday, and we're doing it as a birthday thing.

As for my team, I wouldn't call it cheese, but I wouldn't call it weak. I think it has the potential to do well. However, since the spirit of the game seemed to be comic theme, I tried to come up with a very dramatic comic theme.

I do want to win, I don't want to get shut out, but honestly...I am more hoping you guys will ooh and ahh over the cleverness of my team more than I want to win. My team is set in stone, and I can't wait to play it.
