Here's another idea. If Unsung is running this thing, we could all tell him our teams in strictest confidence, and he can give everyone a general feedback of "these teams are fun" or "these teams are out for blood and entrails".

Thats up to you guys. But I won't be holding my breath. I blame sports for the lack of sportsmanship in Vegas. What are you all so affraid of? My win loss record ain't the greatest, but I KNOW I HAVE beaten the best in town. That IS enough for me. Whats at stake here? Your braging rights Who gives a flying rip? If you feel you need to "break the scenario" everytime a game is run, I'm not so sure I want you there. It makes me feel like I need to put restrictions on scenarios to curb the "I gotta win even if it means my future" kind of thinking. And turst me, this is how you come off. It's not attractive and IT WILL KILL FRIENDSHIPS.

The Tourney some folks are losing sleep about:

Saturday.Sept. 5th 12:15pm to 5:30pm or so.

Bring a single 500pt. team (unrestricted) with no more than 50 pts, worth of feats.
No battlefield conditions. Only restriction is no teams may include Ms. Marvel (skrull) from Secret Invasion.

*Player in most need of Probability Control (carpy dice rolls)
*Best Themed Team
*Fellowship
*2nd place
* Grand prize/winner as said before, will get any figure they want modded for them.

If you believe Lucky (and I do), the point is that there are at least 2-3 people who will always bring power. Being told "its just fun" or "tone it down" still means using rookie Mon-el for wild card abuse, just maybe leaving the protected off...

In other words, they build power, and cant help it. Wont ever change.

There are other people who would otherwise play fun teams that are so toned down (i.e. spirit squad) or who like playing theme teams that are underpowered (like a 500 pt wrecking crew) that they would get demolished. And going 0-4 rather sucks.

Even bumping up from "loser" team (as you say) to "middle" team Still wont be sufficient to prevent the beating. So now these people bring power if they want to have any shot at winning.

Dont blame those looking for answers. Blame those not willing to provide any, for the mass of "abuse" teams that will show up.

Believe me, I said this earlier. I'd much rather bring 6 teams of various power, and play to the build/level of my opponent.

When faced last time with a tournament of yours, I brought (among others) the invaders (a middle squad) and the 4 judge heralds (who stand little chance vs a real team).

Playing the "heralds" vs Roland would be no challenge, but to a younger player, it makes for a fun game. And it did, even though I lost. I even reminded the kid about moves/pc/outwit, etc, to help beat me. I dont mind losing, especially while teaching.*

I let Tyler choose his opposition for his pimp daddy team, and ran the JLI against it. Another fun game, where Shazam, on his Billy clicks, got the only KO of the game.


This time, we've been given no option but power, and attempts to clear up the issue have only resulted in attacks upon those asking questions.

I'm not going to be "bitter" or lose a "friendship" over this. Maybe others will be petty and if so, then thats what happens. But I dont want to get nova-blasted, LAMPed, or otherwise because getting killed and going 0-4 still sucks, whether you have "won" or not in the past.

Its not ego. Its just not fun to lose by a mile for 4 games, when you havent even been playing the game lately.

Certainly a tough squad. While its clearly the best Batman, its also the most fragile Superman, HSS wise. NGN Supes brings alot to the table. But one hit and he loses some sparkle.

Lucky also loses the shot at adding feats. But Sinestro Bats works well without em. Can Lucky pull of this duo of hitters to a victory, or will a chase supes make mincemeat out of NGN-nestro ??

I am done on the Vegas thread. If anyone needs to ask a question you'll have to PM me. I will be only on the Realms for the Artisan's Guild and to check out some new news, but thats it.
