Y'know, I actually forgot about The Mighty Avengers and I wasn't even counting the Ultimate Universe but, since I didn't state that you win and the thread is yours, DocDoom187. The groups I was originally looking for were:
The Avengers
The Defenders
The New Fantastic Four
The Pantheon
The Warbound.
Superman: "One of these days, Lois....POW!!! Right to the Marvel Universe!"
I can think of a few baseball teams that'd like to sign him.
Oh yeah, I can see that.
"Did you catch the Red Sox game last night? Bottom of the ninth, score tied, bases loaded, the Hulk comes up to bat. Swing and a miss, strike one. Swing and a miss, strike two. Swing and a miss, Hulk rounds the bases, all the players on base come in for runs and the Sox win!"
"Hey, wait a minute! If that last one was a swing and a miss, it's three strikes and he's out!"
What famous poet did Doom capture, and when was this?
Are you looking for an answer specific to the 616 universe? Beacuse the "Marvel 1602" version of Doom captured William Shakespeare and toted him around in his flying airship in the Marvel 1602: Fantastick Four miniseries which came out a couple of years ago, if that counts.

...That was exactly what I was looking for.
Apparently that question was way easier than I thought
Leave's become most beautiful when they're about to die
If you're like me, you probably think of Spider-Man in his early days as being confined to New York, especially in the first few years' worth of Amazing Spider-Man. However, Peter Parker was surprisingly mobile for a high school student, and actually went to quite a few interesting places outside of the Empire State to battle his foes. So, here's your question:
1) Name the first non-New York location Peter/Spidey visited (the state will do), and
It is with the saddest heart that we must pass on the following news. Please join us in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community. The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71. Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin.
Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs.Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, and Captain Crunch. The gravesite was piled high with flours. Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded.
Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a very 'smart' cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times he still, as a crusty old man, was considered a roll model for millions.
Doughboy is survived by his wife, Play Dough; two children, John Dough and Jane Dough; plus they had one in the oven. He is also survived by his elderly father, Pop Tart. The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.
That's the one I was looking for! Good job, Custom C - you have the thread.
CuCr can't come to the thread right now. He's got a lizard on the grill he plans on eating for his Labor Day dinner.
Most of us settle for Burgers or a hotdog but then, this is why he knew the answer right away. He's gonna be eating a Curt Connors relative.
Name the purple-skinned giant Dr. Spectrum created to battle Iron Man.
Umm.. I can't recall, but I think it's name was borrowed from a Sinbad story. The two-headed bird thingy. Rock? Roc? Or Rok? Something like that. Not to be confused with the TV show or Dwayne Johnson.
