The luxury suite could not have had a more out-of-place group of occupants. Gaudily-clad supervillains were scattered throughout the posh surrounding in ones and twos. The Joker and Clayface were whispering conspiratorially over a Louis XIV end table. Weather Wizard was at the bar trying to hit on Circe. Gorilla Grodd sat on the couch with a banana daiquiri, feet on the coffee table, watching Animal Planet on a plasma-screen TV the size of a small movie screen. Solomon Grundy stood behind him watching over his shoulder. "Puppies. Grundy like puppies." Black Manta stood staring at a huge tropical fishtank, his helmet completely masking his thoughts. Queen Bee and Brainiac 13 were looking out the window making small talk while the General stood in one corner waiting patiently.
The door opened and Lex Luthor entered, accompanied by a red-haired amazon.
"Hubba-hubba!" the Joker said, doing his best impression of a Tex Avery cartoon. Weather Wizard dropped Circe like a hot potato and went to get a closer look at the newcomer.
"Forget it boys," she said. "Not in a million years."
"Ladies and Gentlemen. Apes. Homicidal maniacs." The Joker perked up a this obvious reference to himself. "Please welcome Maxima to my new Injustice League."
There was a snort from the couch.
"You have something to say, Grodd?"
"The Injustice League is a joke. It has never succeeded in defeating the Justice League. Why are we bothering to perpetuate this farce?"
"The Injustice League has always come within inches of victory. Sooner or later persistance will pay off. Besides, you have no doubt heard the news."
"The new teams," Black Manta said.
"Indeed," Luthor confirmed. "With these Avengers on the scene, there is even more reason for us to band together for strength. It is possible that these 'Masters of Evil' will ally themselves with us, but I will be honest with you. Even if they do I don't trust them. Nor, I'm sure, do they trust us."
"So what's the plan?" Clayface asked.
"A good question from our other new recruit. We take down the heroes, of course. If we can use the Masters to help us, so much the better, but once the Justice League and the Avengers have fallen, then we shall have to ensure that the Masters of Evil...Joker, what ARE you doing?!"
What the Joker was doing while Luthor was answering Clayface's question was painting a goofy face on the back of Luthor's head. Maxima, who had been watching the whole thing was having a hard time keeping a straight face. The General wasn't. In seconds he was across the room and had seized the Joker by the back of the neck and lifted him off the ground.
"No, General," Luthor said, wiping his head with a handkerchief. "Don't kill him yet. Annoying as he is, he will have his uses. But take this as a warning, Joker. What you do with the enemy matters nothing to me. But I will not tolerate your particular brand of idiocy among our own ranks. Next time I will let the General snap your spine."
The General put the Joker down. The Joker rolled his head around on his neck. "Killjoy," he muttered.

996 points.
Probably not the most, uh, effective team I could have chosen. I could have certainly eliminated "dead weight" like Black Manta and/or Weather Wizard to upgrade Luthor to someone like Metallo or Clayface to Bane, but I've wanted to play Luthor for the longest time. In lower point games the 69 points was too large a portion of the build total to justify including him. But with 1000 point to play with, I figured why not? And it was a matter of principle to include the full roster of the IL if I could, even if some of them are, well, not very good. It just wouldn't be the Injustice League without them.
Wow, we're gonna have a slobber'knocker, if you excuse the expression.
The Avengers Mansion was in shambles, as nearly the entire roster of costumed heroes had been searching frantically for clues as to the disappearance of thier fearless leader, Captain America.
Eventually, of course, the search turned up nothing of value to the hunt, Henry Pym called a meeting of the Avengers in the horribly messy main hall, while Jarvis scuttled about, mumbling to himself while cleaning.
"Captain America has gone missing, so it seems. Vision informs me that a dimensional rift has spilled out nearly 30 beings from a paralell universe, most of them super powered. In addition, Black Panther tells us that the Masters of Evil have been gathered in the same area as the new group of super-beings. We figure that these events must somehow tie in to the disappearance of Captain America. Our plan is to assemble a strike force to combat the rogue Masters, and at the same time ascertain the abilities and intentions of these new beings."
The call came out simultaneously,
AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!!!!
Meanwhile....
From the street, it would look like a blur of patriotic colors was jumping out of the secondd story of the Bunny Ranch, but a closer look would show that his pants were around his ankles, and his teeth were holding the strap of his shield. It wasn't often, but sometimes even the sentinel of liberty had to get some. Upon his return to the Avengers Mansion, he found it in shambles, and everyone missing except a half-crazed Jarvis bustling about, tidying things up.
"Hm...how rude, they didn't even leave a note...."
Here's the link to the maps, as generously pointed out to me by Gargantua. I personally like the over pass, since it's open but divides the teams, at least for a little while. Any other ideas? http://www.creationmatrix.com/forum/...?pg=clixonline
What we ought to do is roll for initiative. Per the rules the high roller could choose map. The lower rollers can pick their starting positions (I don't think order matters, really, as long as the person who got to pick the map ends up with the leftover side).
We should also roll for objects. Usually in a 4 player, I like to play that 1st and 2nd highest roller get 1 HO and 1 LO, while the 3rd gets 1 HO and the last gets a LO. But given that we're going to have a real, uh, slobber-knocker here, maybe we should do 3 objects apiece. 2 highest rollers get 2 HOs and 1 LO, and the 2 lower rollers get 1 HO and 2 LO.
His name is Wally West, the Flash, and he's the fastest man on earth...........
Girl with ponytail:"I win.........I actually beat you?!?"
........well usually he is. She's Jessy Chambers, or Jesse Quick, either one works. Under normal circumstances she is not faster than the Flash, but these are hardly normal circumstances......
Flash: " I guess my leg hasn't quite healed from that little blue guy with the Bruce Camble complex. But it's getting there. You're looking like you've got your power back to full"
Jesse" Yah, feels pretty good. How is your head? No more problems thinking from the.....what did he call it a "broomstick"?
Flash" His "Boom-stick". I can't believe that you've never seen a Bruce Camble movie......"
.....technically Jessy beating him in the race doesn't mean he not the fastest MAN alive.........but he's not used to being second to anyone. We blame the injury and so should you. But there is more to being a hero that being a full health there's also........honor..........

Guy in Green"Come on Pretty-Bird, she didn't mean a thing. It was just a harmless game of parcheesi."
Pretty Bird"Ok Ollie, then why where most of her cloths on the ground?"
He's Oliver Queen, don't let the name fool you he's straight........and he'll take every opportunity to tell you that himself. He's the finest shot in his world. He goes by the name of Green Arrow in this get-up. The VERY upset young lady beside him who is picking up that frying pan.....
Ollie" Ouch!!!"
.....who is apparently a fairly decent shot herself, is Dinah Lance, the Black Canary. They are....were.....are.....well...we don't really know if their dating right now. It's kind of hard to keep up. It's probably a good time to move on ...

A red/yellow/black talking fish...?......:"So you talk to fish?"
Guy missing a hand:"......yes....."
A red/yellow/black talking boat.....?....:"And you can breath under water?"
Guy missing a hand:".....yes...."
Lady in a top hat:"O'Brian don't you remember what happened last time?"
The guy missing the hand is Arthur Curry, don't ask about the hand .....he's kind of touchy(Get it? Touchy!!!) about it. He is the ruler of Atlantis, and as such has a short fuse. The guy in the silly looking red/yellow/black suit is Eel O'Brian, Plasticman........he loves to annoy Arthur. The lady in the top hat is Zatanna Zatara and it appears that she is about to be a referee.......again.
Plasticman:" And that's it?"
Arthur, shakes his head and starts to walk away

Lady in the red hooker-boots:" That was Superman. He and Batman have their hands full with Captain Marvel and Hawkman. But he said that he doesn't want us to interfere.......something about .....castling."
Big green guy:"They'll be fine Dianna."
........two people fly into the room..........
Lady with wings: "Who doesn't want our help?"
Lady in the red hooker-boots:"Batman and Superman."
Guy with flames coming off his head:"Does Batman ever want help..........from anyone?"
The lady in the boots is Wonder Woman, she's an amazon.....like you can't tell. The big green guy is J'Onn J'Onzz. Get this, just like Superman he's the last of this kind and lives on earth and protects us common folk.....how much of a coincidence is that? The lady with the wings is Kendra Saunders, Hawkgirl. Now we know what you're thinking.....she talks to birds and can fly right? Well no, she does fly but take note of that mace she carries....it has an electric setting. Ronnie Raymond is the guy who's head is on fire, he's called Firestorm......go figure. And if you look really closely on the top of the left monitor you'd see little Ray Palmer, the Atom... he's sleeping right now.
___________________________________________ This now bring us to him...............
The hooded figure seems calm at the moment. Don't let that fool, you he's had a turbulent road to this place in his life. Not many people could do the things he's done. Experience saving the world, having great friends and also being overcome with equally powerful grief. Lashing out at the group of teammates he was once considered to be one of the best, ripping old friends from the grave in an effort to stop the feeling of failure that he feels inside.
He senses it, the dimensional rift with the grouping of super-beings......some familiar.....some not. He alerts his past teammates of the situation immediately. Almost as fast they start to converge at the disturbance....but he know's that they will hot be able to handle this challenge alone.
The figure pulls back his hood to reveal a head of brown hair with streaks of white along the sides.......in a life that seems eons ago he earned everyone of those grays. Faintly at first but slowly growing brighter a glow begins to emanate from the figure's right hand. As the figure begins to rise the cloak he was wearing began to drop away.
For this task the mantle of the Specter would be left behind. It was time for Hal Jordan to fill the role of Green lantern again. It was time for Hal to be a hero again.........

I made a promise to Matt Murdock to wear his mask....I've fought this war in his place.....And I'll continue to do so.
But I haven't forgotten who I am...and soon it will be time to carry my own burdens again.
It seems Jackygobang has choice of maps, so he can go with the overpass map that he liked! And Doom's Medic and I have the dubious distinction of having to reroll to see who get to go last.
Initiative reroll is a 6.
Icewolf and I tied for high roll on objects, but whether we use 6 or 12 objects it shouldn't matter, we both get the same (either 1 HO and 1 LO if we're using 6, or 2 HO and 1 LO if we're using 12)
As soon as jackygobang confirms his map choice we can start placing.
I agree. With so many high-powered guys, 12 objects only makes sense.
If no one minds, I'll take rows A & B and position my team. I don't know if I'll get a chance to post again today, so I don't want to hold things up too much.
