Well here's a pre-retirement team, at 300 points:

U Iron Man 144 pts
LE Betsy Braddock 44 pts
E Abbey Chase 45 pts
E Destiny 23 pts
E Mandroid Armor 32 pts
V Paramedic 12 pts

Total= 300 pts

Of course, it won't survive the Thor and cheese that your destined to face, but could prove fun.

So the idea here is to build ridiculous hooker/paramedic teams? Yea, that's what we want to encourage.

Hopefully battlefield conditions will be used after the 9th. Those should shake things up, assuming you can't use ordinary day more than once.

So Black Adam teams? Yea?

And why wouldn't we?

This thread will prepare those for such teams if anything else.


Folks really aren't putting much into this thread because listing a team they will use becomes a liability. And when a figure like Masterpiece Hulk/Magneto are on the line (current Masterpiece on ebay =$1250) I'd expect only the highest caliber of team construction.

Everyone knows what to expect and knows what they will play.

Its no surprise.


Concerning Black Adam,
I don't think many top teams will consist of BA post retirement. Because the number of cost effective nons went up. Even if it is just Vet Havoc and Exp Northstar, Feats like Pounce really bring several figures to the top tier level of competition that are as offensive as Black Adam for 1/2 the points

E Spiderman (Ultimates) for 44 points, 59 with pounce can deal HUGE damage from as far away as Black Adam can for hardly the investment.

E Venom, Universe Starter Spidey, etc... all do the same thing.

E Northstar as my friend Sonicyouth pointed out in a game we played today, is actually better than Nightcrawler because you can also fit in 2 R Con Artists for the exact same cost. You can 'hover' through obstacles,Taxi, Move for free, and provide a better ability to Wildcard= Avengers-Free Move).

V Havoc is probably one of the best non uniques in the game. 10 attack, 4 damage, and Leadership/Comand for 44 points.

Post retirement Premier events, Pounce is just a less expensive alternative to HSS. That works differently but implies the same first strike Close combat strategies which is why I doubt Black Adam will be predominant after Dec 9th.

But before Dec 9th, Black Adam is sure to make his way into several better teams.

With the usual support, TK,medic,Perplex,second and third attackers (JIS,Hawkeye,V Ultimates Cyclpos).

Here is a question. I will be playing at a tournament post retirement and if i want to use pyro does it have to have the universe symbol on it? Or can i use the xplosion version?


Also i think Thor will rule this format.

You can use either version of Pyro. Though Pyro doesn't have an XP version. Other than the uUniverse, he has an IC version.

So are you planning on going to one of these, and expecting to come across teams without Paramedics, and Con Artists?

It's not that we are encouraging it..it's the reality. Anyone who goes to one of the Premier events, and expects to win, will more than likely face three things en route to winning:

1) Perplex abuse teams
2) Thor teams
3) Medics

oops, I was thinking of both pyro and about con artists and got the sets mixed up.

Johnnie I will be there, hopfully salem. Any where further north would just kill me.

Do we know if the point build will be 300 or 400?
