Originally posted by hair10 Funky is correct. The reasoning behind it (the very short answer anyway) is...
- Feats are assigned to characters when you build your force.
- The character has to meet the pre-reqs (somewhere on its dial) in order to have a Feat assigned to it.
- A fig with zero range does not meet the pre-reqs for Taunt when you assign the Feat (at build time).
What about a figure who has 0 Range, but has Mind Control (Mad Hatter, Puppet Master, Controler, Kobra, Sauron, Hecate) In the PAC it states that they get a range of 4 for that even though it's not printed on the dial. Does this count?
Originally posted by VandalSavage That's too bad...I don't agree, but I don't make the rules. What I don't agree with is the fact that no one with range can taunt...I seem to remember several characters like Hulk or Thing "taunting" their opponents
Oh man exactly. EXACTLY!!!!!! What's up with that???? Where are WK's thinking caps, dagnabit
Originally posted by Kaszael Now, now, we all know Thinking Caps only have 1 durability and with the beating they took for CM, all said caps surely have been destroyed.
Ha Ha. I hadn't read through the entire thread though but Vandal was the first to say what I was thinking. Oh and CM wasn't all bad yo!
Seems like everything is being FAQed nowadays. The big problem seems that all the changes aren't necessarily compiled in the same place to be easily accessible. FAQ dem bastiches all together, yo!

Yes
Comment-
I thought the rules said range of 0 cannot be perplexed up. I don't know, but I thought that was in the rules...
at this point that is correct
Another Question-
Does Pounce currently NOT allow you to Leap/Climb?
Only when in the act of using pounce. Again, this is being investigated at this point[b]

The fig has to have it printed on the dial, but not necessarily showing (on the first slot) at build time. Would be kinda hard to assign Auto Regen to somebody if it had to be showing on the dial.
clonedpoop.... its a "pending issue"
Puuka... From the PAC on MC - "If this character has a range value of 0,treat its range value as 4 when using this power." It's the Mind Control power that gives them a range of 4. They do not have a range of 4.
saturnflight... regardless of the figs range (as long as it has one) you can Taunt up to 6 squares away. As for your second question... currently, the way Pounce is written it does not allow you to use L/C and Pounce together. I'm checking to see if this is the way it's supposed to work or if there was an oversight.
Whew... time to take a break...

There are 542,000 children in foster care. Talk to your local foster and adoptive agency. You could change a life.

Did I miss something? Since when can you NOT Perplex a range of zero up?!!?
You can perplex it. But the issue here is not wether you can or cannot perplex a range, it is that your range must be greater than zero PRIOR to building your force. Perplex showing on your dial is NOT a "possible 1 range", it is a power that, in game, can be used as such, not prior to it.

My only argument to this would be... I have heard you can use Pounce with say... V MM Spiderman, you just have to wait until his next click.
This leads me to my next question... can you add a feat card to the point total of you're team, knowing that a few of you're figures meet the prerequisites of the card, and then place it down at any time during the match on the figure of you're choice? This would really boost the usefulness of the feat cards!
Lastly, I would like bring up the fact that a range value greater than zero as a pre-req for taunt is slightly ridiculous!
Example- A lexcorp security guard, could taunt some one, simply because she happens to be carrying a gun! Yet people like Wolverine, Beast, Wonder Woman, or black panther, can't simply because they aren't holding something they can throw or shoot with? With MM they released, possibly one of the most taunt worthy figures in Man Thing...
Making range a pre-req for taunt is pointless if you ask me. I have the option of putting taunt on some one like Bullseye, which would mean I have to get Bullseye with in 6 range and then have him taunt some one to base him, making him useless... Obviously this is a ridiculous example, but I'm only bringing it up to make a point that range should not be taunts pre-req... instead the pre-req for taunt should be... The figure using taunt must have the ability speak loudly, and form a coherent sentence!

Exactly....In all reality, it should be the opposite...The Ground pounders are the ones that WANT people to come to them...Not the ranged folks...Let's see the thinking on this...I'm Cyclops and I "want" someone in my face...OR I'm Hulk and I "WANT" someone to bring it to me...It just makes very little sense...I thought the purpose of ranged attackers was to , um, stay at range...I can just see the lowly bow men or the sniper wanting the enemies closer...I would think it would be the Knights and Shield Guys with Clubs!!
Too true. Although I think they just wanted Spidey to be able to do it.
Perhaps they should have made the Pre-requisite having 4 range or less. Would seem to make a lot more sense and would cover most of the 'taunting' type characters. Well except maybe Hawkeye and Deadpool...
Christ did not come to condemn the world, but to save it.
Originally posted by XStreme can you taunt someone and then fly the taunter away so that the character has to try harder to reach them?
I would think so. There's nothing on the Taunt card saying anything about the 'Taunter' having to stay in one place. The question still is: if the 'Taunted' cannot possibly reach or attack the 'Taunter', how hard does the opponent have to try? One space closer? Or the 'Taunted's full speed?
