Wanda was getting increasingly irritated and knew she had to contribute more if the Avengers were going to apprehend this bunch of loonies. She had since lost any sort of compassion she'd had for them, inspite of their poor faces, and was keen on employing her special skills. She maneuvered for a better position.

Wonder Man gathered himself and took a deep breath, while Iron Man took a moment to rewire a couple more relays.

My error -- thinking Iron Man was in hindering terrain -- has nothing to do with the object he's carrying; we cleared that up in a recent match. Instead, i'm using another map upstairs, onto which i've placed pieces of paper for this match's map's bushes. (I'm using rubble markers for the pond.) On the underlying map, Iron Man is in bushes.... I'm confusing the two maps. Sorry.
This next turn will likely be decisive.
My last three rolls were all 7. How average.

Just when Wanda thought she was safe, fireworks rained down on her, and insane laughter filled the air.

The Scarecrow tried the fear gas, but the wind shifted and he got a lungful of his own medicine, falling to the ground and screaming about crows.

Mr. Freeze gave Iron Man a blast of super chilled liquid, then when he was sure it was brittle enough, impaled him with an ice shard, taking the Golden Avenger down.

Two-Face entangled the muscle man's legs with a titanium corded bolo.

Joker's LOS to the Witch still looks good to me, so he'll outwit her PC

The Scarecrow will push and attempt to incap Wonder Man. AV6 vs DV15. Roll is 3+4(7), MISS. He KO's himself with the strain.

The Riddler perplexs Mr. Freeze's damage up by 1.

Harley and the Penguin perplex Mr. Freeze's range up by 1 each.

Mr. Freeze attacks Iron Man. AV9 vs DV16. Roll is 6+5(11), HIT for 4 damage and the KO.

Harvey Dent outwits Wonder Man's charge.

Iron Man fell to the ground, clutching his chest plate. Wanda gaped, hardly able to believe the fact that their frozen nemesis could dish out such damage. She was almost stunned. Ant-Man reconsidered the tactical situation and went around the bushes. Wonder Man re-clenched his teeth and made a beeline for the man with the strangely featured face, who seemed to bark out orders earlier. There was something peculiarly avian about him.

Well, i'm quite sure that Joker doesn't have LoFire to Scarlet Witch. I set her there carefully with the help of a Line of Fire Resource(http://www.geocities.com/gen_leo/HCDiagonals.pdf). But she couldn't 'see' Mr Freeze anyway because of his Stealth.... so Iron Man is kaputt. yippee.
The trouble is: does she have PC now for my attacks or not? Do you still want Harvey to Outwit Wonder Man's Charge or her PC? Whatever -- i'll do something that makes it moot.

The Penguin called out in fright, "Joker, stop playing with the girl and help me with this malignant mountain of muscle!"

"Gee Pengy, all you had to do was ask nicely. Which you didn't." The Joker began to hum, and inspect under his nails.

The Penguin spluttered. "How dare you, I...I...my, he is rather large isn't he....please Joker."

The Joker broke in to an impossibly wide grin. "But ofcourse Pengy old chum, why didn't you ask earlier?" He reached in to his coat and pulled out a rediculous looking contraption out.
It looked like a ray gun from the 50's, and had wires and doo-hickeys sticking out of it. He pointed it Wonder Man, turned his head away and blocked one ear with a free finger.

<ZAP>

Wonder Man cried out in pain, as his Ionic energy was partialy disrupted. The Penguin saw his opportunity, and jabbed him with an umbrella. A blade popped out, and as it penetrated it shot out barbs, electrified. spun and squirted concentrated acid.
Wonder Man was hideously injured, but still stood.

The Joker eyed the smoking device in his hand. "Well what do ya know, it didn't even kill Pengy."

"WHAT?!?" screamed the Penguin.

The Joker shrugged, "Well that's the thing with experimental weapons made by a mad scientist, you just never know till you test them."

"WHAT?!?"

The Riddler, Harley and the Penguin all perplex the Penguins damage up by 1 each.

The Joker outwits Wonder Man's Invl.

The Penguin attacks Wonder Man. AV8 vs DV15. Roll is 6+6(12!), HIT for 5 damage, but no KB due to charge showing. Ouch.

Harvey Dent outwits Ant-Man's Incapacitate.

It infuriates me no end that i had Joker on my map up in the attic not at K17 but at L17. Seeing the clear LoFire to Wonder Man would certainly have made me hesitate to place him in front of Penguin like that.

Maybe joker did have LoFire to Wanda for that Outwit then. My placement of her was based on the 'wrong' spot of Joker. I apologize.

Wanda had lost sight of Simon, She ran around the flank,past the still smoking hulk of Iron Man's armor, and ducked into soime bushes for cover. What she saw shocked her: Wonder Man's normally invulnerable body torn to shreds, his uniform in tatters. She saw the man with movie star ambitions wind up and smack the short, stout fellow solidly.

Doctor Pym's voice rose above the din: "Avengers, retreat!" A cloud of flying ants arose from all around the pond....

It was over, the heroes were in full retreat.

Bullets, bombs and ice rained at the heroes as they ran. The Joker produced a vacuum cleaner from somewhere and chased Ant-Man with it, cackling maniacally.

With the sun starting to set, the villains headed in to the seedier areas of the city, ready to take over the criminal element. It wasn't Gotham, but they'd never really liked Gotham that much anyway. This was their city now.

As they drove down sunset boulevard in their Cadillac, Harley cuddled in to the Joker's side.

"So what's the plan Mr. J," she whispered, yawning contentedly.

"That's easy enough my little turtledove. We're in Hollywood, land of the moving picture. Comedies are my favourite ofcourse. We have a full tank of gas, a camera man trussed up in the trunk and a world full of opportunity. Let's make movies!"

The sun dipped as the car disappeared in to the distance, insane laughter on the warm breeze.
