"Oh believe me," Spider-Man sighed. "There are usally more bad guys in the wings then there are extras in a production of Evita."

Vanisher blasts Spider-Man with his pistol several times but his super-senses warn him well. He easily avoids the hits.

"Blast you, you wily insect! Stay put and take it like a man," snivels the Vanisher.

Spider-Man ICWOs his damage to 2, Outwits Executioner's Toughness and attacks, AV8 on DV15, needs 7. Gets the 7. 2 more to Executioner.

Since you'd probably hit me with an action token with Vertigo next turn anyway, I'll do it to myself instead. Nightwing pushes to attack Executioner, ICWOing his AV to 8 on DV14, needs 6. "You again?" Spider-Man asked as the Executioner staggered back into the fight. "You'd think you'd learn after the first couple of hits, but then again, you don't look like you were anywhere in the top 98th percentile of your class. Shall we?" he asked Nightwing.

"Oh yeah," Nightwing agreed. As one the two heroes delivered blows to either side of Skurge's jaw. The Asgardians eyes rolled up into his head. He stood, swaying for a moment and then toppled backward like a felled tree. "That's one down," Nightwing said, shaking out his fist. "Just the rest of these clowns to finish off."

"Ah yes," the Vanisher said, "but who will finish off whom?"

"Ooh hey, that sentence was grammatically correct!" Spider-Man said, sounding surprised. "I guess we know who got the brains that Curly down there missed out on."

Wow, that Executioner was such a waste, didn'teven get to do story posts with him.

Vertigo releases her dizzying ability. Spider-Man becomes woozy, "Argh. I feel like I did when I watched the 'Blair Witch Project' matathon last Halloween."

As Whirlwind slashes more Nightwing again, "See you bleedin' goodhearts? You took out our strongest member and we still have you on the run." Nightwing spared himself the worst of Whirlwinds' blades but he couldn't deny the truth in hi words. He and Spider-Man needed desperately to press for an edge.

I have no choice but to clear.

Vanisher disappears and reappears in front of Spider-Man. He shoots him point black. Even with his super-senses Spider-Man doesn't have the chance to avoid the hit. He falls over not realizing a dark figure in the distance watches.

Well that's Spider-Man down. Not sure how much longer Nightwing will last, but we'll see what he can do. He'll attack Vanisher. AV5 on DV15, needs 10. Gets 7.

"Oracle," Nightwing updated her. "Spider-Man's down, and I don't have high hopes for myself."

"Hang in there," she advised. "Batman's on the way."

"Tell him to floor it," Nightwing suggested, desperately fending off attacks from three fronts.

Whirlwind attacks. Needs 7, rolls 8 again...and Nightwing is done.

This makes 4 wins for me to your 6 so you get to choose to go up against Galactus or to be him. We can start this the weekend after Thanksgiving if you like (this way I can focus on the My Team games).

Spider-Man's eyes open to bleerily watch Nightwings' defeat. "Gotta go help him..." he thinks to himself. Before he can the trio of villains are hit by knockout gas and fall quickly.

"O? " Batman asks.

"On my way, Nightwing is safe," Oracle replies.

"Good," he turns to Spider-Man, "I'm Batman. Apparently we have a date".

Spider-Man stands shaken and looks quizically at the Dark Knight.
