"I feel your mind, Batman, and it is a glorious labyrinth. You'll do well for my queen," the possessed Professor Xavier brood underling slithers as he enters Batman's mind.

Batman alomst overreacts, being overly sensitive to issues of mind control of late. "Dazzler! I need it big and bright!" he yells.

Dazzler justs reacts with a pyro-technic light show beyond anything she's done in a long while. It blasts into the Profeesor X broodling even dissecting a wing. It leaves Dazzler incredibly spent. "Whew! That was more exhausting than one of my shows," she says with sweat pouring down her face.

Batman gives a sliver of a grin, "Good work." Despite herself Alison Blaire feels an odd pride akin to a compliment from her father.

This team's not doing much for me. Fun thematically, but not too functional.

The younger queen hissed. "I don't know what you did to my mother, human," is spat the last word as an insult, "but you will pay." She slashed with her tail, the spikes leaving a gash across Batman's chest.

Surrounded Batman grabs a can of acid gas and does a complete circle trying to infect those brood closing in on him. His mask keeps him from being affected himself but only the possessed Professor X is tagged by it. The creature gags and crawls into a corner but does not fall.

Brood Queen pushes to attack Bats. AV8 on DV15, needs 7. Gets 8 (4+4). BCF roll is 5, so at least I've managed to put Batman down and it's not a total shutout. 1 to the Queen for pushing.

Brood Warrior pushes to attack Psylocke. AV8 on DV17, needs 9, gets 7. No go.

"You are an excellent specimen of humanity," the younger queen decided. "You will make a fine host for my egg." So saying, she thrust her stingers into Batman's abdomen, puncturing his kevlar body armor. The dark knight fell. His allies gasped, knowing what it meant when you fell to a Brood Queen that way.

"Don't worry, Dazzler," Psylocke said. "We'll beat these monsters, and we'll find a way to save Batman." She wished she was as confident as she sounded. It was true that the X-Men had survived being implanted with Brood eggs before, but that was an exceptional case. Most did not.

Dazzler flares up a blast and smashes through the Professor brood creature with it, "Stay away from Batman, he's annoying but he's ours!".

Psylocke plunges her psychic knife into her foe and almost takes him down. "Ugh. You filthy creatures have insides as horrible as the outsides. Being insde your mind is like walking through a field of slugs sucking at your flesh with every step."

"Her light kills," Divebomber hissed and went indoors instead to help his hivemate against Psylocke.

"You dare?" the Queen raged. "You dare to leave your queen in danger? You had better hope the terran woman kills you, for whatever she does, your death at her hands will be a mercy compared to what I will do to you if we win!" However, she opted not to stand alone against Dazzler either.

Dazzer to L5, perplexes Betsy's damage to 4.

"Surround the telepath, she's the weaker one!" the Queen commands.

"Oh I don't THINK so," Psylocke yells and commands the Queen's warriors to attack her.

The screams are truly alien.

When her minions cease the attack the Brood Queen looks up warily, drooling and bleeding, "Kill her! Kill the mutant!".

I'm off for now, I'll try to reply later tonight if I can. FYI I'll be away for about a week starting Friday night, with limited ability to do these games, though I'll try. I'd love to finish the Heroclix Team Up games and be ready to start the Galactus game when I get back.
