Yeah, it appears Icons got rid of that. Half the games we play around here don't even use objects, so I don't think anyone even asked if it had been changed.

Not to pour salt on the wound, but this is not a 'new thing'. It has been this way since Universe, at least (and I am pretty sure since Indy). You may wish to talk to your judge and make sure he/she is using the latest rules.
I think the confusion comes from a line in older rulebooks (I think, but am not sure, that is was even in the Universe rulebook) that essentially said that a figure could not use an object the same turn that it was picked up. Later, this was clarified to mean that, unless the character has a move and attack power, they cannot use the object the same turn they pick it up (as normalview pointed out in his post).
However, after a quick scan of the Icons rulebook, I cannot find that line anywhere.
The rulebooks are getting better with each re-write, some changes just take a little longer than others...
First of all the wall ruling in the original post is correct. I have had it come up at the venue i play at. i agree that its stupid but its the official ruling. Second many of the figures from armor wars were printed with a wing symbol, but no flight base. This was confusing for both judges and players, so at the pre-release they were used as flyers and could carry other grounded figures. Errata took that ability away from said figures.
The stupidest ruling i've ever had was that a kid could continue to play even though he brough a 500 pt army to a 400 pt event. I kicked the #### out of the team i brought even with the 100 point handicap.
I try and I fail
sometime i even succeed
if you look at my life
it ain't so bad if you know what i mean

I guessed you missed the link to the WK forums and the post by DS, where the Rules Arbitrator said that the ruling in the first post was incorrect. A character on the opposite side of the wall does not block the LOF necessary to destroy said wall.

Wait, wait, wait wait....
Am I nuts or was there not a post in this thread by DS-00-0, FSD where he showed Karl's answer to this question?
I thought there was, but I can't find it now... maybe a mod deleted it for some reason (i.e. hair can't technically answer questions here on the realms?)...
Anyway, even with that post gone, tabasco1982 I recommend you check out the link to the WK forums where this has a;ready been addressed.
