I agree as well. My confusion over the card centered around what "resolving" meant so I didn't understand who could vault, attacker or defender. Why couldn't they just say "Attacker can Vault when etc..."
I have constant issues interpeting the rules, cards and the language they're supposed to be written in...and believe it or not I teach a course of English Composition at a local community college...of course it is a community college!
Oh, a community college. Me talk simple then. Hey! Just a joke!
I was also confused by the wording of the card an I'm not dumb. In comparison to a lot of games, heroclix is straightforward but the wording can at times be a barrier to understanding
#1 say i assign vault to a hulk, after completeing a close combat action, can he pick up an object while moving to his new square?
#2 if the answer to #1 is no, what if that hulk also has 'rip it up' assigned to him?
I would say no, since the card uses the word "place" and SStr allows objects to be picked up as part of movement from a move, power, or free action. Even if the Vaulter Charged in, and ignoring the "place" wording, I don't know that I'd rule the vaulting was part of the Charge power action.
So what happens if you pounce with Spider-Man and hit someone off of the roof top. Could you go down to their elevation? It seems that you would be able to with they way that they worded it.
It is still a very nice card for only 3 points. You can pounce and end up where your only touching the 1 figure if it was set up right.
cheers

I think it is a great feat that does great things for the game. Feats (in my opinion) should allow things to happen outside of what is normally allowed in the game. Those seeing the added benefit for Cheshire are absolutely right. This could net you an extra 2 spaces of movement on her charge and maximize the number of opponents affected by poison.
Options are a good thing in HeroClix. Seth's designs are GOOD for HeroClix. In another thread, someone mentioned how Ultimates, Legacy and Icons rate higher as far as more popular sets compared to Seth designed sets. I will admit, it is hard to give a bad rating to a 4 damage running shot character for 48 pts. (R Blackfire), but is that good for the game? Not in my thinking. Was Blackfire really capable of dealing 4 damage in H-t-H combat in the comics? (I have no clue hear, but at 48 points I am guessing no!) This outstrips most every character from the first few sets at a cost that is way to cheap to ignore.
I prefer seeing rather than one shot, one kill. These guys aren't Marines! In the new sets, it will take some determination to finish off a character in one round let alone one shot. Vault gives more options in placing characters which in turn leads to better placement of those figures.
Kudo's to those damn fine (albeit short) asian players from Calgary (You know who you are even if I can't remember your names!) who have fantastic positional play. I dread facing you when we next meet when this card becomes legal! Hopefully I will see you at the Calgary Comic Expo in May.
I hope we get some more feats along the lines of this one including one that will make me WANT to play Forceblast rather that keeping someone on my team even though he has it.

No, because you can only pick up an item during a move action, and this doesn't give you a move action, it just allows you to move the placement of the figure.
I'm from WV and I understood the card the first time I read it with no problems. I have no clue where the confusion is coming from on this card.
As for the card itself, it looks pretty awesome. Nothing gamebreaking, not too expensive. Definitely a useable card.
I think that the main problem is in understand the intricacies - the overall purpose of the card is pretty clear. Whereas I thought it was very obvious that 'placing' a figure and 'giving this figure a move action' are two very different things, many people will not see the difference until they try to use it in a tournament and a judge has to explain it. It definitely could have been worded better.

Pounce doesn't work with this or anything else... just the way it is. But you could attack from the ground to a building and then place spidey on the building.
I see this card most usable with Combat Reflexes. My reasons are...
1.) The +2 to defense for Close combat is good. You can stay close to a figure and move your figure around to stay out of line of sight of any Range attackers.
2.) If I am hopefully reading this right. If you cause a knockback to a figure you can place your figure anywhere adjacent to the figure you knocked back.
3.) Vault yourself into some hidden terrain.
4.) Be able to use charge with vault.
I like to try this on Katana R. For 40 pts you got a Stealth, BCFer, with a 18 defense at close range who can jump around hidding from range attckers. This should be fun.
Husband, Father, and Retired Herclix player. Still collecting clixs that I like.
Personally I can't wait to try this out with Colossal Boy. Put a Batman Ally, such as Robin, on the same team and you have a giant, perma-stealther that is near impossable to get to. If someone is taxied up, Colossal Boy can make an attack, then Vault one square away. If you can get back into hindering, the opponent has to do a breakaway to attack. If there's no hindering to hop into, use Robin to pop a Smoke Cloud and provide cover. You could even Vault around behind the flyer. True, you can get around it with TK or HSS, but still, it sounds like a fun combo
