I don't want to play a game of chess where dumb luck or money decides whether or not I get to use a rook... Collectibility is a necessary evil of Heroclix, not a boon.
My only disapointment on Comic book day was two guys who where rude and pushy. when the comic store opened the two ladies who opened it where not sure which figures where the free heroclixs. The owner who was running late who knew which ones to give out. These two guys kept pushing and pressuring them until they found them. These guys give the rest of players a bad rep. Now this store goes all out for us giving cookies, dougnuts, drinks, and pizza to us shoppers. They even pressure people who where not into heroclixs to take one and give it to them outside. Gothem City Comics if your reading this let me apoligize for these jerks on behalf of all us decent heroclix players.

What part of the world is that in?

Complaining never brought a smile to anyone's face.
The place I went had a limit of 4 free comics/person. So between my son and myself we got 8 comics and both Wolverines. They didn't have all the comics I was looking for so I will check out some other locations to see what they have left over (and try to pick up a Wolvie for my other son).
I took my almost-2-year old daughter with me to FCBD, dressed in her Kid Flash onesie (without a cowl, mind you.) We hit two stores. At the first one, you could get only 1 free comic - no matter how much you spent. Their FBCD materials were behind the counter and out of reach. They handed out one Wolverine promo per customer, but seemed to have only the white shirt version. My daughter and I both got one.
At the second store (the one where I have my saver box), it was a totally different and much better experience. They had a table set up with all the FBCD comics. You could pick one of each. They also had pre-packaged "rated G" comics, meant to be given out specifically to kids. Once you got all of your free comics, you picked up any that you wanted to buy (though there was no purchase necessary), and then you could go up to the counter to get one Wolverine promo per customer. They had both the white and black shirt Wolvies. Again, my daughter and I got one each. I felt that this store (Big Planet Comics, Bethesda, MD) had the right way to do FCBD.
FCBD was a great day for a dad-daughter outing. My little girl did her Kid Flash onesie proud by running around the store like a tiny human thunderbolt. Eventually, she will inherit all of daddy's toys and comics, anyhow. I was glad to have her as my sidekick for the day.

I was out of town, but managed to hit a couple of stores where I was visiting. The first was about to close so they said I could have 1 of everything on the table (including both wolverines). I bought a booster and they threw in the Stargate figure (very nice for a freebie well made and detailed).
The second store just said "be reasonable" when I asked how many comics I could take. I got another set of Wolverines for a friend and bought two Cosmic Justice boosters and got Catgirl and Son of Darkseid Superman uniques. Sweet!
I never pull uniques, so two for two is unheard of.
