Actually, I believe the Serpent Society's phasing is supposed to represent Sidewinders teleportation cloak, which he used to transport members around (and spring them from prison whenever they were arrested, one of his main selling points when he first recruited the other society members), though that's neither here or there.
So, what do you guys think of Daybreak and Cthonian, any preferences as to who you'd prefer as a team-mate?
It depends mostly on how the game runs. Cthonian would be more unpredictable and fun, but the stability and focus of Daybreak would make him a better teammate, since he's much more reliable and predicatable, even if his overall power is a little lower.
If we don't get in, I hope somebody else can run us
So yeah, here's my backstory:
Magnus "Sleeper" Vestensson
Magnus was born to conflict. His parents were middle-class workers from Norway. Magnus' father was employed against his will as an assistant technician in one of Hitler's Norwegian nuclear research plants. When Allied forces began systematically sabotaging, and often outright destroying the plants, the Furher moved the surviving crew to Berlin, where they would begin work on a supersoldier project as a last-ditch hope against the Allies.
When the Reich fell, there was more hardship for Magnus and his family. Berlin was split and the Vestensson family was, unfortunately, in the Soviet-controlled Eastern half.
As soon as Magnus was able, he began to take up arms against the Soviets. His young, brash, and unhidden actions caught the attention of the upstart NATO group, and he was offered a position in their ranks. Magnus fought hard for his native country, for his adopted country, and for all of Europe. He learned subterfuge, guile, and planning. After the Berlin Wall fell, Magnus was sent to the Balkins to put his talents to use against a different oppressive and corrupt regime.
In the late 1990's the power of NATO began to wane, as Europe was being united and strengthened by the European Union. Magnus became a free agent, fighting oppression wherever and whenever necessary. Sometimes he gets paid - sometimes he does it for himself.
No one knows exactly how a man that is, by all accounts, in his mid sixties is able to continue his war - let alone with the will, the ability, and even the appearance of a man half his age. If you ask him, he'll tell you that it's the necessity that keeps him going; that as long as there is an oppressive government taking advantage of its citizens, he won't slow down.
Others, however, expect something far more sinister ....

He does, kind of slip through people, he also just disapears and re appears, to throw villains minds around. RobotCowboy, I like Daybreak better, I just love the back story to him
Crime statistics dropped upon the arrival of ADAM-1 (Adapting Defense Android Mechanism) in the late nineties. Street crimes were at an all time low, allowing the do-gooders in capes to go after the "big fish". Hundreds of units were ordered and circulation worldwide was in the thousands... until one day ADAM-112 was plucked from his existence and set into a reality where crime runs rampant again.
Uh yeah, he's a pog........with dreams of becoming a rookie........

If I may, I have a character for your omniscent eyes, oh mighty clix master(is that correct? you're no dungeon master, right? )
As a child, Vincent Watt had fear of the dark: not the usual childish fear, but a pure and true dread of it. Years of terapy couldn't dig out the reason of such a terror, but it was immediatly clear that as much as he hated darkness, young Vince deeply and profoundly loved light, almost as a mother, and felt protected and safe in presence of even the smallest light source.
Vince grew up studing the source of his love so deeply and passionately that at the age of 24 he became a well known and appreciated cinematographer, working in ads and movies as well.
During the shooting of an action movie, however, the reason of his dread of the dark was revealed. The main actress was in a dangerous situation and no safety measures were taken because the director wanted her fear to be "as real as possible" and, naturally, everything went the wrong way. The actress fell and 200 meters height (sorry, metrical system, i'm italian ) would have driven her to a bloody end of career if Vince didn't turn with a bright flash into a being a pure light and flew to catch her... al this, naturally, under the cameras of the entire troupe.
Vince always kept this power hidden deep inside of him and that sudden emotion just unleashed his misteryous superpowers, that he swore to bend to justice, driven by the example of many heroes before him. His main aim, however, is to undestand why he possesses this kind of powers and how are they related with his fear.
He took the name of Lightweight.
In few words, he can turn into a living light been, able to fly at nearly light speed (Hypersonic speed + Willpower) and capable of acts of superhuman strenght (guess what? ). His control on his structure however is really poor, at the moment, and if something menages to hit is nearly untouchable body and break his concentration, he loses the most of his powers, slowly transforming himself in a being of pure shadow (Stealth). Luckily he became aware that in these situations he could steal energy from surrounding light sources to regain power and go back to full health (Regeneration). His experience as a cinematographer also allow him to bend the light he is made of into real holograms, to puzzle his opponents (Shapechange).
Ok, hope you like it, now i'll try to understand how to edit his dial into the forum...

As you can see, he his ment to be the speedster/bruiser of the team, even though with only 40 poits he can't be Supes. He's kind of a glass jaw, and his codename is also a joke for it, but regeneretion is there to put him back into action ASAP. He also features full dial of Shapechange, a funny and undervaluated power in my opinion, that the team is actually lacking.

Yeah, that thing's kinda weird. The downside though, is that it's easy to miss that 'lucky click', and just get killed I'd drop the Force Blast and some of the numbers for a 5th click though, just so you don't get KO'ed right away once you push onto that second click.

I've modified my characters dial and added a short bio. He provides support for the team, mainly perplex and enhancement to show him inventing tech to improve allies or weaken enemies.
Johnny Marvel was born in a far distant future, the son of the two most intelligent humans in the galaxy. Young Johnny displayed a keen scientific mind from an early age and soon developed a knack for creating incredible inventions. As he grew he began using these inventions to help and protect people. He became the galaxies most cherished hero.
Johnny Marvel is a genius with technology and uses many marvellous inventions in his battle against evil. These include his quantum pistols, anti-grav pack, super tough force fields, and short range teleportation device. He is also skilled at creating fantastic devices in a matter of seconds to aid his team mates in battle.
7 year-old Nathanial Ralston enjoys jigsaw puzzles. He also enjoys quadratic equations and listening to his Raffi CD at near head-splitting levels for "that funny feeling I get behind my eyes." Professor Finnigan found this youngster after the department secretary brought her son into work on the weekend. The child solved 5 senior-level calculus problems in under 3 minutes.
These displays of solving problems and helping others are common place - especially if they like his Hot Wheels collection. His mental clarity allows for his long sight on the battlefield, and his Willpower is so strong that he can deflect ranged attacks, and even convert enemies into allies with a simple glance. Finally, he can block himself from other's sight so that his mind and body can heal itself.
If he survives to age 8, he'll only get stronger - mentally AND Physically!

whatever that is robert , your piece should be at least 90-100 pts
Maybe so. But, don't worry. Considering how crappy my connection is at the moment. I won't be joining the RP. I just want to see what uber figure I can make. And see if anyone would react.
Robert makes a good point. if you aren;t going to be able to keep up with this league then please bow out now as there is more intrest than expected. The hope would be that you would be able to post at least a move a day, minus the weekends as I personnally have a hard time getting on from Friday at 5 to Monday morning. If you do not post a move in a moderate amount of time, I will allow your teamates to act with your character for you. It is not fair for them to have to wait for someone. If there is a reaosn you will not be on and you let me know that, it is not a problem. another teammate will operate your character and I will make sure it is used in a respectful manner.
So since I have not heard from Tanis or Feluwelt, here is what I am going to do. Robotcowboy, Melkhor and Juggernut, you are automatically on the team. There are 3 open spots and I believe 5 people that want them. So if you people whom have already come into this thread have not put up your character's powers and backstory, then do so now. If you do not have one up by the end of the day, sorry but you'll be out just cause its simplest that way. You three whom are in will then decide whom you think fits your team the best and essentially decide whose in the league. I like this better than me picking because if the team chooses its members I know they will work better together. If you are not picked, you can still follow the league because if people drop out, more can easily be added (See the Exiles comic)
