LoSH Turn 6

Chameleon shifts into Tharok as Validus lumbers towards him. "Stop, creature! Clear the wall!" the orange Tharok commands. Validus stops and smashes through the wall.

"Um Kara....help!" the orange Tharok whispers into his comlink.

"Hit him in the chest!" Cosmic Boy whispers, "Brainy just informed me that that is a weak spot."

"Hey, brain face!" Kara shouts and Validus turns towards Kara. A smile creeps on her face as twin beams of fire leap from her eyes hitting Validus in the chest.

The Science Police Officer whispers hyserically into the comlink, "The Emerald Empress is here Brainiac-5, what are we gonna do???"

"First off, we are not going to panic," Brainiac-5 replies calmly, typing into his computer, "Second, I will get rid of that magic field around her." Brainiac-5 aims his computer at the Empress and there is a shimmer as the magical energies shatter.

"Nothing taking a couple of synthesized compounds mixed together at the right amount and spread into a Theta level alpha wave beam to disappate magical energies. Next...Lyle, the shot is yours."

Invisible Kid smiles as he brings out his blaster, hitting the Empress in the legs.

"That should slow her down for a bit," Brainiac-5 smirks, "It is handy to have a 12th level intellect as mine around in situations like this."

1) Kara range attack on Validus. Get's +2 from Cosmic Boy and Science Police to AV. 11 + (3,3) = 17 vs. 16 (no hindering terrain bonus b/c of SA TA). Validus takes 1. Kara gets an SA. Cosmic Boy will get the AST. Cosmic Boy returns to copying the Bat Ally TA and the end of the action.

3) B-5 copies the PD TA. Invisible Kid takes a shot at Emereld Empress, using B-5 to add +1 to his AV. 10 on an 18 (+1 to DV b/c of hindering). 10 + (6,3) = vs. 19 vs. 18. Hit for 2. Invisible Kid gets an SA. B-5 gets an AST for the outwit and goes back to copying the Bat Ally TA.

Aren't giants immune to knockback?

Giants don't take knockback actually.

According to the rulebook from Icons and Dangerroom, Giants are immune to Plasticity and Forceblast, nothing about Knockback. Page 50 if the DR rulebook.

Did they FAQ that or something?

and to TMNT

fixing above post, you are right, I am wrong. Only read the Giants section and not the KNockback portion.

The Mutant Mayhem rules inserts say they are immune to knockback.

And the Danger Room rules cover the fact that Transporter, Giants and Colosal figures are immune to knockback in the "knockback" section of resolving attack.

I've had the same exact problem in the past, actually. They should have the giants stuff in one place.

LoSH Turn 7

"Wildfire, get back here!" Brainiac-6 barks into the comlink. Wildfire heads back to the fight.

The Orange Tharok waves at Validus and shapeshifts into a fly and sneaks back behind Cosmic Boy.

"Kara, again!" Brainiac-5 orders, "Same plan! This is his weak spot...the helmet. Cos, Chameleon, Science police, distract Validus!"

Cosmic Boy, Shvaugn, and Chameleon begin shouting and moving, Validus begins to look confused not noticing Kara's eyes.

Kara's eyes light up again and the beams of fire hit Validus in the head.

Validus shakes his head again and growls in their direction.

"I think you made him mad Kara..." Chameleon whispers.

"Let me try to distract him," Cosmic Boy picks up his arms and thrusts the metal drum in front of him, missing the creature by a lot.

"Nice try Cos....um, next time...why don't you hit him?" Chameleon grins.

"Next time I will just throw you...." Cosmic Boy says under his breath.

Free action - Validus Outwits Invulnerability on Supergirl.

Free action - Tharok perplexes AV on Validus.

2. Validus does an Energy Explosion targeting Supergirl. 11 AV vs. 15 DV (hindering). The roll is 6+1 = 7 for a hit and splash damage on all figures in base with her: Cosmic Boy (14 DV), Science Police (14+ESD) and Chameleon (14, no SC roll since he was not targeted)

3. Emerald Empress moves to G13, dropping Tharok in G12.

HALF TIME REPORT by Martian Manhunter

(a booming deep voice enters everyone's heads)

"Well hello there earthlings. This is the Martian Manhunter here, live from the JLA watchtower bringing you the halftime report from this game. For the second half of the season, we are proud to welcome Chicken by the Sea as our new sponsor. Trust us, it's not chicken.

Well sports fans, we thought we were in for a treat although the first quarter really disappointed us. Like a chess game, the managers of both these teams decided to play it safe. That all ended when Cosmic Boy sent Wildfire out to annihilate the Luthor Battle Suit and the fun hasn't stopped since then.

After some careful maneuvering, Validus tried to get the jump on Chameleon, but like so many before him, Validus was stopped by Chameleon's shape change. Some successful attacks on the Emerald Empress and Validus have whittled down two of the major hitters for the Fatal Five. But dno't count these Five out. A brilliant move by Validus iinvolving an energy explosion on Supergirl has began to work down the Legion of Super Heroes. These latest moves plus a full Tharok has put the LoSH on high alert for the remainder of the game.

It is still anybody's game right now. The LoSH lead with a KO of the Luthor Battle Suit but the way things go in these games, anyone could take home the win.

"Lyle, we need to take down Validus. Now. Use this attachment to your energy ray. It will penetrate his armor." Brainiac-5 gives Invisible Kid a small metal box that he attaches to his weapon.

Lyle aims and fires at Validus, the ray piercing the armor. Validus lets out a howl of pain.

The Science Police Officer rushes over to Cosmic Boy.

"Here, some data from HQ. Aim for the helmet. It is beginning to crack anyways."

"I think I have fought Validus before Shvaugn...." Cosmic Boy brings up his arms and the piece of lead piping that Kara had dropped flies through the air, cracking Validus's helmet some more.

"You don't look so good Cos," Chameleon shook his head.

"That took a lot out of me...gonna rest for a bit...." Cosmic Boy's arms slump to his side.

"Wildfire, stay sharp....you got Tharok in front of you" Brainiac-5's voice pipes up over the comlink.

"Really Brainy....I had no idea..." Drake rolls his eyes and brings his arms up to defend any attacks that are forthcoming.
