I've been a little confused by events in New Avengers (the only CW title I read) when we always see Tony as if he was in some seperate room looking at screens, etc, but when his disgruntled employee shut down the armor, then took off the faceplate, there was Tony. Whassup with that?
I'm under the impression that's sort of a virtual-interface. I.e. that's how he pictures himself in the suit when using it's info-features, it's not a real room.

IIRC, that's how things appear to Tony when he's in the armor. Like it interfaces with his mind and even though he physically has eye-holes in front of him, he 'sees' all these monitors, etc.

Man, Ro-Gan, you're being even more of a curmudgeon than usual in this thread. Maybe a more youthful avatar would help.
Tony needs a new job and he needs a new Iron Man after Civil War.Iron Man, in particular, is a title that has thrived on massive changes. Rhodes in the armor was one of Marvel's first huge gambles, and it reinvigorated the title for years after (Armor Wars was just two years after Tony took the armor back). Stark Industries becomes Stane Industries; Circuits Maximus becomes Stark Enterprises; Long Island becomes L.A., etc.
Part of what makes Tony Stark my favorite comics character is that he makes stubborn, wrong-headed decisions sometimes. This time, it's wrecking everything, but a man who's really really right 99% of the time has a very hard time imagining that he's wrong. The other thing I love about Tony: he will figure out that he was on the wrong side of this issue, and it will destroy him.
He's got to get out of the armor. Hopefully he'll lose that stupid Extremis #### as well; nothing kills Iron Man like Tony having actual superpowers. The book works best if he's handicapped. If it's not Jim Rhodes, maybe it's Force, who's operated the stealth armor before. Or Cardinal, out of prison after a brief stint as a Thunderbolt. Or Abe Jenkins, my favorite possibility, but one only I seem to have thought of.
Ah, if only they'd let David Michaeline write the book again. Or me. I've got a great first two story arcs in my head.
In a surprise move Tony Stark will be killed off by Nick Fury who was secretly behind the registration act.
The Iron Man suit will mysteriously end up in El Paso where it will be found by a hapless high school student. Thus begins a new era of Iron Man as the new occupent of the metal tights must balance his new life as a superhero, homework, and the high school prom.

Also, speaking of Sandman, I've seen that he's been around lately - I thought he died? Did he come back or something?
He came back about 2 years ago. He had come back from being poisoned by Venom (the real Venom, as in Eddie Brock) and he had split into 4 different personalities: A woman, a toddler, a villain, and a hero. They ended up getting back together into William Baker again. Later, he joined Identity Disc (basically a Sinister Syndicate) and died again. Now he came back somehow.
And She-Hulk, Crystal, Medusa, Power Man, Ghost Rider, Mr. Fixit, Wolverine, and Spider-Man.
I'll give you She-Hulk, Crystal, Medusa and Power Man. Only because the stories were well written.
But, that 4-issue arc where Wolvie, GR, Hulk and Spidey became the new FF was just horrid. I read two issues thinking it would be good and all I wound up doing is burning both issues as a sacrifice to the gods that my mind wouldn't melt from reading such drek.

Super Boy (Kon-El) is the only exception. The rest you mentioned-- especially Stryfe and Ben Reilly-- are from the 1990's (at least I know Ben and Stryfe are) and this only demonstrates that they were horrible plot devices that unimaginative and uncreative writers tried to ram down everyone's throats ad nauseum.
The black costume is also a nice bit of change. I look forward to seeing it back in continuity again.
You say that as though the black costume was ever out of continuity. If it wasn't, then how is it 'back in'.
Bringing back the black costume (and the new 'darker' attitude for Peter) is a tie-in with the movie in order to attempt to sell more books to kids who might like the movie, and nothing more.
Just like giving Peter bio-organic web-shooters after decades of him using mechanical ones was to tie-in with the first movie and make him 'more accessible' to people who only knew him from the movie.
It's a cheap ploy. It's dumb. And, everyone knows before it ever begins that it won't last (which only serves to make it more dumb).

Ok, bad choice of words. I should have said "Nice to see Peter donning the black once more."
Its a given that its a movie tie-in, but with the way that Peter has faired during Civil War, it is a reasonable justification for him to put the costume back on (if you ignore the fact that MJ absolutely hated him wearing it all the previous times he's put the non-symbiote costume on...which is a completely different kettle of fish that I'm just not going to touch*).
As to the bio-organic web-shooters: I really feel that this is art mirroring life for once. The [good] film had a less-comic book solution to a comic book problem which worked and the comic book followed suit. I don't have a problem with that and I'm as big a fan of Spider-man as it gets (perhaps this is why I don't have a problem? ).
I like the bio-organic webshooters. I like the fact that Peter Parker isn't 100% comfortable with them either. The bio-organic webshooters make more sense than this kid making a miracle-glue formula Even Ultimate Spider-man's rationale for him creating it still didn't sit right...
Anyways, to be frank, I don't really care what kind of web-shooters he has: to me, just the fact he has them is a quintessential part of Spider-man. Does it really matter what form they have?
*ok, I am: Joey Q.'s stomping on continuity for the sake of selling more units...

Bio Organic webshooteres makes more sense. Except only at the beggining of the series. Adding it in mid way is just stupid and doesn't change the fact that he invented the webbing in the first place. It's like how they want to break up Mary Jane and Spiderman because "They only did it because of the news strip." It happened. Why are you trying to retcon it by changing something that doesn't even retcon it?
