And, again, it throws a really creepy snag into Billy's relationship with Courtney when he was also reciprocating feelings as Captain Marvel; frankly, I think that Jay may have had a right to be cautious there if it turned out CM was a different guy than Billy.

And the whole Mary Marvel stuff makes much less sense now.

So... some of the lightning that replaces Billy with a different character hits mini Mary, so what happens to mini Mary? Replaced with a different character? Electrocuted? None of the above. Somehow, she gets some of Cap's powers? Wha--? And a costume that's like his! Wha--?

If the magic lightning was transforming Billy, then I could see it also transforming Mary. But if the lightning does no transforming of Billy, then why does it transform Mary?

Black Adam is given powers froma different source of Gods. So he's a different "thing".

And I think due to the shared memories eventually Billy and Cap M will combine into one being just like Black Adam.

And Jay Garrick had a problem with Cap M and Stargirl cause he didn't know that Cap M is really a teenager.

Mr/ Tawky Tawny explained that basicly "The Stars were right". It was just a "Right place at the right time" moment.

Er, that's the whole point I'm trying to make - it's a good thing Jeff Smith's continuity isn't right or Jay would've been correct in having a problem because Smith's CM -isn't- a teenager, he's a grown-man that switches places with a teenager.

Hell, even knowing he's a teen there'd be a problem, simply cause ... well, remember when you were a teen, think about it.

The thing is though...During the Obsidian Age storyline in JLA...Batman sent a probe to recruit Billy for his JLA. He is shown in standing around all the JSA members as Billy...Then transforms to CM. So techinally they should've know Billy was CM

It doesnt matter becuase it was pre-new crisis. That event might not even exist now.

And I've heard this Shazam! continuity is supposed to be "correct" now.

The JLA story was the one in error. The JSA team were reportedly pretty hot about that gaff. Very few people know about Billy and certainly not anyone but Courtney and Black Adam on the JSA.

At least until "Virtue and Vice" when Billy's secret was "outed" (and somehow Jay still missed the memo on it...that or he still felt there was something wrong with Courtney dating someone with a grown man's body ).
