I had already played through both of these games a while back and thoroughly enjoyed them, especially the mods. After reading this thread I went on to eBay and found a great price for them. I even bought a new one for myself. I know I can’t put any actual links so I thought I would point you in the right direction. The seller seems legit to me, but it’s not a huge investment so I’m hoping for the best. The item title is:
Freedom Force vs. the 3rd Reich (PC) NEW! RPG Strategy
And best of all it’s only $5.00 with S&H for a brand, new copy!
Sounds about right no need to worry. The Office Max and Toys R US around me sell that game for about that much... or did last time i checked. Wanna say 5 for Office Max and 10 for Toys R US.

All I want is to be able to use my favourite comic characters in this game, how come everyone else can, and I can't? I don't CARE about FX and carp! Why aren't there any instructions on what to do to actually get these characters into the game!
Alex's Freedom Fortress is the most helpful site so far, but that's relative.
SOMEONE HELP ME!!
How do I get new meshes into the game? (and then skins that work on that mesh?)
Oh my god. Oh my actual god. I am so ####ing pissed off.
I saw on Gryphones Freedom Force skins site, that the Martian Manhunter skin used a Martian Manhunter mesh fro ma yahoo group, so I go and download that mesh and put it into the Custom Characters folder, along with the skin. Of course, they dont show up in the actual game.
However, when I click on Data, then Art, the only folder there was "library", when I think there should have been 'CUSTOM_CHARACTERS". I just made a custom characters folder myself. I think that's the problem.
Seriously, I know this sounds stupid, but the customisation was the reason I wanrted this game, and the lack of it in my case has caused me no end of stress/annoyance.

I will help you on anything my friend.
just tell me exactly what you want to do.
question: with custmizarcion what do you mean? you want actually do characters? skins? mesh? I tell you, is reeeeally hard. the easy thing is just seach the mesh and skins. there is anything what you can wish for.
and I know the bether places for get exacly what are you looking for.
le's begin:
a character for work must have:
Mesh (is the 3D model, can be fat, tall, with hair like Wolverine, etc)
Skin (is the "paint job" all around the 3D model)
herofile (is a file create with all the powers what a character have in the game)
is all!. some mesh comes with all toguether but a lot of skins you have to find the mesh before that you can't see the character in the menu.
afther that you just need add the herofile and you character will live!
about the Mods is MORE easy yet., double click, install and play!

Please, any non-techno help is appreciated.
you have to look what character you want. like in Heroclix I have a list of around 200 characters what I love.
once you know what you want, just ask me. each "skin" tell you in a notepad what mesh you will need., there is sites with ALL the mesh what you need, some are hard to get even with all, but you will find a lot!, if you in the end can't find something and I have it, I can send you, you will also discover new sites, and you will tell ME that and you will share the best versions of each character with me. Deal?

yeah their should be a "custom_characters" folder in ART next to data. Maybe you have something mispelled or it's the caps that are doing it? Oh also to get the characters in the game you have to give them their stats unless they came with a "Herofile" or whatever that you need to put in the right folder. So you go to where the other Meshes are in the "Create a Character" screen in the beggining and then change from the current meshes to "Custom Meshes"

For some reason, when I opened Data, then art, there was no custom character folder. (I've just installed the game on my new computer..is that why?) I just made my own one..and that's probably why.
All I want, is when I see a Warbird skin on the net, is to be able to use that in game. But I can't physically get any meshes or skins into the game.
When you click New Character, are there like Male and Female Basic meshes in the list? All I have is 2 examples that came with an update pack thing.
